Lennox Lewis recently declared his love of West Ham in an article in the London Evening Standard following West ham’s 6-0 defeat to Man City in the league cup semi final
“They are still my team, even after things like the 6-0 defeat against City. You just don’t walk away, do you? There’s probably a lot I could say about the team and the way they are going but I’m not sure how much I want to comment. I think I might regret it! But I’m over in London again soon and I’ll go to a game. Maybe I can go in for a team talk?!”
Replying in his weekly Friday column Sam Allardyce has replied by saying “Lennox Lewis said in this newspaper that when he comes over to England, he wants to come to the Boleyn Ground and give a team talk to the lads. My reply? You’re more than welcome, Lennox — any time.”
The three-time heavyweight champion of the world was born in West Ham in 1965 before he moved to Canada when he was 12.
Sounds like we have a new motivational speaker for the team’s pre-match talk. Maybe he could take Ray Winstone in with him?
