Opposition Q&A Leicester City

This week I spoke to Foxes fan Chris Forryan from LeciesterTillIDie.com

How do you rate Nigel Pearson as a manager?
Highly. I know he is on a bad run at the moment, but only once in his time at Leicester City has he failed to get us promotion or into the play off’s. The Premier league is a stiff learning curve and given time he will come good.

Leicester City are at the bottom of the Premier League table on 10 points, can you survive relegation?
Well we are going to be bottom come Christmas unless we can put four or more past you and Hull lose to Swansea, and we all know what that means. When we got promotion we said 17th would suffice for our first season and that is still achievable even if we do it on goal difference.

What positions do you think Leicester and West Ham will finish in the Premier League this season?
As per your previous question for us 17th, although I said 14th before the season kicked off. To be fair I think you are punching above your weight at the moment and I think an 8th place would see your fans and owners happy.

Were you surprised by West Ham’s good start to the Premier League this season?
Yours and ours both!! If I am being honest I expected you to be scrapping it out at the bottom, and I think big Sam took a lot on unwarranted criticism, not unlike Nigel Pearson at the moment. But I am pleased when managers are given the chance and manage to turn things around.

Which three teams do you tip for relegation this season?
Hull surprised me thought they would be doing better, but I think they will take one place. Burnley will struggle and take the second relegation berth. The third? Taking my blue tinted glasses off any one of Leicester, Crystal Palace or Sunderland would complete the trio going down.

How are West Ham fans perceived by Leicester fans?
We hate you!! Seriously? The older fans amongst us still remember with fondness the days of Brooking etc etc. A team that played nice football, not unlike Leicester in the 70’s. But mostly I wouldn’t say you are anybody’s second team in the division but then we don’t really hate you either.

If you could have any current West Ham player in your team who would you choose?
Could we have all 11 please! Well as goals win matches and we are not currently doing this it would have to be Sakho. I am sure you are pleased with his season so far.

Favourite West Ham player of all time?
Was going to say Trevor Brooking but one of my all time heroes is Bobby Moore so it has to be him.

How do you expect Nigel to setup against West Ham on Saturday?
We played really well against the Champions last Saturday, so I expect no changes in formation or starting line up meaning a 3,5,1.

Score and prediction for Saturday?
We are desperate for a win and have started to play better so we may just get a bit of Christmas luck. So I am going to go 2-1 to Leicester.

Notes from Sean:
I like Chris’s optimism but my prediction is for a 4-1 convincing win for the Irons on Saturday. I have just started playing the predictor league for the past 5 games and entered into the top 10 at number 5 so hopefully I can keep this up by getting this weekend’s result correct. Come on you irons!
