Talking Point

What a difference a year can make

Looking back twelve months at the Premier League table would see West Ham in 16th place with 10 points just one point away from a relegation place, by New years day this year we were to sink to second to bottom in lowly 19th spot. By 12th November last year we had managed just one league win at home against Cardiff which was the first game of the season who would be relegated at the end of the season. Our famous 3-0 away win against Spurs at White Hart Lane was the only other win this time last year, four goal less bore draws against Southampton, Newcastle, Swansea and Aston Villa gave us the remaining 4 points.

In contrast this season we remain in fourth place in a Champions league qualifying spot during the International break until 22nd November with five wins and three hard fought draws earning us 18 points which is just 3 points behind 3rd place reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

After the international break finishes we face an interesting run of games to Christmas day

Everton Away 22nd November

Newcastle Home 29th November

West Bromwich Albion Away 2nd December

Swansea City Home 7th December

Sunderland Away 13th December

Leicester Home 20th December

So the question of the day is just how many points will we gain from the next five games and what league position will be in on Christmas Day?
