Too much time on my hands, hence numerous and often pointless postsFrom: Kent, United Kingdom
Come from a family of east London WHU supporters so it was inevitable I supported the team especially as I've been told that my great grandad worked at the Thames Iron Works. I remember being so proud and excited going from infant to junior school as their uniform was claret and sky blue.
How I came to support West Ham
I have no memory of how I came to support the Hammers; it was a case of
'I think therefore I'm West Ham'.
My best West Ham memory
More than one: 1980 FA Cup Final at the Tunnel End; a 70s game when we beat Man Utd and there was something 'on' the game but I can't remember what; and in 1979 we played an evening game v Cambridge - it was snowing and bitterly cold - the stewards moved us to the Upper West stand (great - seats!), they played 'In Dulchi Jubilo' so we could dance and keep warm at half time, we had a streaker and we won 3-1.
The best West Ham game I’ve ever seen
Best recent-ish game was semi-final Play Offs against Ipswich. The Boleyn was rocking from the start and we were definitely the 12th man. Also the joy when we beat Liverpool 3-1 in 2014 … only to beat them again but this time at Anfield - what joy :)
