About me

Fat 50+ year old hammer. Always optimistic to the point of stupidity , but then we all are a bit as we support a club which at the beginning of the season ( until Wolves get here ) start in last place and who's song says 'like my dreams they fade and die'.
I will never give up on what I think is the West Ham way , which is 11 guys that know where the junction of Barking Road and Green street is with maybe one foreigner like Lord Billy B.

How I came to support West Ham

Not sure...i had 4 mates in primary school in Hackney , all Jewish , two Spuds and two Hammers. I lived in E8 and the other in E5 so at least it made some sense but none of our dads were fans so go figure.

My best West Ham memory

I can't get away from coming out of Upton Park tube against Man U for the last game at our real home. I was 4 hours early on my own planning to go to Nathans and then maybe a beer at the Boleyn. As i got off the tube I was confronted by a heaving mass of humanity which brought a tear to my eye. The queue for Nathans went so far the Canary Wharf hostelries were smiling. I gave that idea up and went round the corner to the pub only to see what I expected by then ...not enough room for a mosquito to get in. The rest is history which we should never let fade.

The best West Ham game I’ve ever seen

I went to Anfield with a mate who was doing the 92. More than 100 years of West Ham support on a fools errand after 53 years of suffering. It was Steve's first time there so we did the photos and pin badges never expecting what would happen. Quality!!!
