How I came to support West Ham

From 1977, it was play Saturday morning for the School. Then West Ham in the afternnon if at Home or Orient or A N Other London Club when West Ham were Away ... often if Liverpool or sometimes Man U rocked up in London. Pay on the Gate. Then over to football on Sunday (Dad run a Sunday Club out of Canning Town/Plaistow and latterly the Black Lion Pub) or then play myself Sunday (Rippleway Newham, Riverhawks, Clapton/Southdown/Senrab, Jays BC (Dagenham). A "Football Family" with my Dad (indoctrination) and then suppose around 11 ish, I really locked down and made a conscious decision about who I actually supported. It was always West Ham really but the West Ham fans at the Liverpool League Cup Final (re: Mr. Clive Thomas) really brought it home to me. West Ham fans actually did something to me that day ... when it got fully cemented in place. Have had Season Tickets intermittently over the years due to playing Saturday football for around 20 years. Bobby Moore Stand (Upper), Rio Stand (Lower South) and Billy Bonds Stand (Upper) at the new gaff.

My best West Ham memory

Sheffield Wednesday away in the FA Cup when I was 15 ... one of the funniest days out on a Coach I've ever had. Shocking! 0-1 away at United (Di Canio) on a sofa in the back of a Mini Bus was a memorable day out as well ... the bits I remember.
