A friendly giant that bleeds Claret & Blue. From: Skegness, United Kingdom Born: 1985 Follow on Twitter: @AdamWaples
I grew up as a child in Hornchurch, Essex. My house backed on to Hylands Park so this was where I really got my first taste of football. I used to watch the men's matches out of my bedroom window, and remember thinking that I'd like to do that one day. Everyone down my street supported West Ham, apart from one lad I knocked about with who was an Arsenal season ticket holder. (I guess we can't all be perfect). I moved to Skegness in 1998 with my Mum, Brother & Sister and took some stick from everybody up here for supporting West Ham as they are all glory supporters (Mainly Man Utd fans! :-). I have followed West Ham my whole life and try to get down to watch them as much as I can. I have 3 sons and they are all big West Ham fans (they have no choice in this household!) my eldest is a mini me & lives breathes and sleeps West Ham, not that he has much of a choice.. Lots of ups and downs being a Hammer, but that's just part of the territory that comes with supporting our great club!!! COYI!!!
How I came to support West Ham
I grew up in Hornchurch, my mates all supported West Ham, my Grandparents were big West Ham fans too and they were the closet club to me, so it was the obvious choice.
My best West Ham memory
When West Ham were promoted back to the Premier League in 2012, beating Blackpool 2-1 in the play-off final. I was out in Cyprus getting married in the same week. A great week full of great memories!!
The best West Ham game I’ve ever seen
West Ham 5-4 Bradford City. 2-4 down at half time. Never seen a second half with so much drama. The argument between Lamps and Paolo over who took the penalty was hilarious. Was always going to be Paolo!
