Supporting for over 60years, now Retired and living Derbyshire. Been a season ticket holder for over 50 years and travel to all home games despite living up in the East Midlands since 1990. Husband, Father and Grandfather, and mid handicap golfer.
How I came to support West Ham
Proud to have West Ham on my Birth certificate from 1948. Family all West Ham, joined my old man in the original Chicken Run on regular basis for the 1957 promotion season. First became season ticket holder along with family in new East Stand 1969. STH ever since now in Billy Bonds at Stratford .
My best West Ham memory
Blessed to have attended all the cup finals and play off finals plus 1966 World Cup quarter final v Argentina ( Peters to Hurst , Goal ) . Best Memory is however 1964 semi final v Manchester Utd at Hillsboro. Poured with rain, everybody drenched, great performance and 3-1win. Train back to London with my Dad, unreal fans celebrating, stripped and drying clothes. Fantastic.
The best West Ham game I’ve ever seen
1965 European Cup Winners Cup final at Wembley. Close second was beating the very successful Leeds United team , Billy Bremner et all, 7-0 in 1966 at The Boleyn .
