West Ham Till I Die

Saltash Hammer

Old time Hammers fan since the 60’s now retired and living in Cornwall. My mate in the picture is called Archie.

About me

Now retired but worked in engineering for Rolls-Royce for many years after leaving RAF. Apart from Hammers my passions are music, mostly Northern Soul, Ska and Blues. Rugby as player and supporter, coach and administrator at grass roots level. Cricket England and Somerset. Reading poetry and literature in general. The countryside and proper pubs and good beer.

How I came to support West Ham

Family originally from Bow Commercial Road, evacuated to Somerset during the war and never went back. Grandad lifelong West Ham fan and enrolled me into the fold at a young age. I have done the same with my own grandchildren. Went to lot of games back in day when living in UK but none since the move, must try and get up one day and meet up with some fellow WHTIDers.

My best West Ham memory

Definitely the 1975 Cup Final the only one I have managed to get to. Plus the last game I watched live, the Wembley win over Blackpool.
