About me
I have been supporting WHU for 58 years and was a session ticket holder in the Chicken Run a long time ago. Married with a son, I was a Quality Manager and travelled quite a bit with my job, and have since retired. I do a bit of DIY, and am a bit of a petrol head (like cars and motorbikes). Taking life a bit easier now that I have retired.
How I came to support West Ham
I grew up in Ilford in the 60's, my first football match I watched was the 66 World Cup final, seeing Geoff Hurst scoring a hat-trick and Martin Peters scoring, with Bobby Moore as captain, all from one club!, I was hooked from that day on, it's been West Ham United, through thick and thin I have supported WHUFC, we supporters are a special group, we are not glory hunters, we are fans who want to see good football with players giving their all for the team, COYI !
My best West Ham memory
1975 FA Cup final at Wembley, my first cup final, not the best of games, but we won the cup and I was there, it was just great watching the team parade the cup with all the crowds in the East End, happy days!!
The best West Ham game I’ve ever seen
The 2006 FA Cup final against Liverpool, although we lost, we were the better team, deserved to win, so close to, if only we had stopped Gerrard scoring, I was so proud of our team.
