West Ham Till I Die

Hammer 1964

Always dreaming of Glory, like our anthem.

About me

Followed WHU since 1964. Used to mainly stand in the western enclosure, but have watched literally from all areas of the Boleyn Ground. Not managed to visit the London Stadium yet. Have become an armchair supporter via Sky & BT Sports.

How I came to support West Ham

A fellow apprentice who was & still is a keen Hammers supporter in 1964 asked me along to the home game quarter final in the FA Cup against Burnley. We were jammed into the South Bank we won 3-2 & I was totally hooked. Bobby Moore became my hero such skill, grace & determination to win.

My best West Ham memory

Seeing West Ham @ Wembley in 1965 win the Cup Winners Cup over 1860 Munich. Two goals scored by Alan Sealy. Also meeting Clyde Best after an evening game in a local fish & chip shop he was buying a large portion of fish & chips. Hugely embarrassing as my wife proceeded to point out to him that it was not healthy for a professional footballer!

The best West Ham game I’ve ever seen

Evening home game in 1966 against the mighty Leeds United in the League Cup. Smashed them 7-0.
