Fancy Doing a Charity Abseil Down the ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower?

Guest Post From Ian Whittaker of the Silver Line*

I am the Challenge Event & Community Fundraiser at The Silver Line. The Silver Line was founded by Dame Esther Rantzen over two years ago to deal with the epidemic of loneliness in the older population. The Silver Line is the UK’s only free, confidential, 24-hour helpline for older people available every day and night of the year offering a friendly chat, listening ear, information and advice. The response to our service has been staggering – we have received over 985,000 since we launched.

I wanted to tell you about a charity abseil day we currently have down the ArcelorMittal Orbit Tower over at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, taking place on 1st October, and was wondering if any of the West Ham Til I Die team or indeed it’s members would be keen. It will be a fantastic, new way of seeing the new home of The Hammers in all its glory! With one of the only charities to hold the event this year it is going to be a fantastic day and even our CEO will be taking part!

All that is needed to take part is a £50 registration fee and commitment to a minimum fundraising target of £300 and you’ll be all set! If you could share this round I would be hugely grateful and of course, please do urge anyone who would be interested in this to get in touch and if you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to ask.

You find out more about the abseil HERE

Thanks for your assistance with this and I do hope we can sort out a team for the day!

If you’d like to take part, just email me at iain.whittaker@thesilverline.org.uk and I will send you registration forms.
