Dear West Ham United ... Where's My Money?

Guest Post by David

I know that there is so much negative stuff about the club at the moment, but I felt compelled to write to the Daily Mail with this letter as I have nowhere else to turn. After making umpteen calls to the ticket office about my e-credits and getting nowhere, I decided to put “pen to paper”. I don’t expect it to go anywhere but I live in hope that the club will actually make things right and also formally apologise to all of us in the same boat. Here is a copy of the letter….maybe you can publish it on the website? It’s quite frightening to think of the sum of money that is being withheld from us !

Dear Sirs,

As a West Ham supporter for the last 45 years, I am appalled as how the club are treating us.

Up until this season, all season ticket holders could sell their seats at a home match through the club if they were not attending the match. This was a good system and the club took a 20% commission. The balance was then paid into the Season Ticket holders “e-account” . This could then be used by the ST holder for purchases for away matches, cup matches, ticket upgrades etc.

At the end of last season I had over 200 pounds of e-credits in my account. My son 30 pounds. Now the e-credit system has “disappeared” and despite numerous phone calls to the club there has been no sign of our money in credits.

Assuming that there were 25000 season ticket holders and most had about 100 gbp in their account that amounts to over 2.5 million pounds that the club has withheld, and no sign of it being paid back.

Hopefully, by running a story, the club will be forced to “cough up” what, in effect, they have stolen from their loyal supporters

On the face of it, this does seem very very unfair. If anyone at the club would like to respond, I’ll happily publish it.
