There is some interesting transfer news tonight.
Modibo Maiga has been pictured at Riyadh airport tonight and Claret & Hugh have the pictures HERE. It is inconceivable that he could make this trip and return to play for us on Saturday at Liverpool I’d have thought. Does that mean we have a striker up our sleeves. Well it isn’t the Juventus forward Simone Zaza. He’s apparently staying put.
Secondly, KUMB are reporting that Kevin Nolan has been freed from his contract, which had a year to go. This is somewhat bemusing seeing as we’ve just sent out his natural successor Diego Poyet on loan to MK Dons. Perhaps it heralds the imminent arrival of Joey Barton.
If true, these two players leaving would free up around £5 million of wages, which is important in terms of the Financial Fair Play rules.
What is certain is that the next six days should contain and awful lot of West Ham related transfer activity.
