Rumour Round-Up: Strikers Demands Helping Or Hindering West Ham?

It is believed that Javier Hernandez is demanding Manchester United reduce their asking price for him in a bid to force a move away from the club as quickly as possible. The Daily Star claim Hernandez wants to be let go for as little as £6million and he will then be willing to waive any bonuses he is entitled to. Whilst this could be great news for West Ham it could also mean that Tottenham step up their interest in the Mexican with a much reduced fee likely to be of interest to them too.

The Brentwood Gazette? report that Bolton are looking to finalize a deal for former captain Kevin Nolan. Whilst it was thought his wage demands could scupper the deal West Ham have indicated they may be prepared to subside his wages for this season in a bid to remove him from their ranks. I think it will be best for all parties if this is wrapped up. Nolan is clearly out of his depth at this level and what better way to finish your career than with the team you started off with!

The same source? also suggest that we have missed out on a deal to sign playmaker Mathieu Valbuena from Dynamo Moscow. It appears he is heading back to his native France after one season in Russia. We were linked with his signing immediately after the World Cup last year but he opted for a move to Dynamo instead. He would have been a great signing, although only a short term option given his age. Perhaps this means that we will be wrapping up the signing of Barcelona youngster Alen Halilovic. Rumours have been circulating for weeks about this deal but it would appear, according to Metro that the deal will be completed some time next week. Lets keep our fingers crossed!!
