Our Final Match at Upton Park Will be Mark Noble's Testimonial

There’s an interesting article on the talkSport website? which goes into how the football fixture list is compiled. This bit was of interest to us…

On West Ham’s final match of the season not being at Upton Park: “West Ham requested to be home on the penultimate weekend.” (Presumably to give them an extra week to prepare for their move to the Olympic Stadium).

Interesting. If that is true, one can only speculate as to the reason. I don’t think it’s because of OS preparations, I imagine that it is because the final match at Upton Park will be Mark Noble’s slightly overdue testimonial match. It will be a guaranteed sellout. If I am right, I hope he and the club do the right thing and donate all the takings from the game to the Bobby Moore Fund and other local charities.

In two other snippets, I’m told the Carl Jenkinson deal is very much alive but any hopes of a Carlos Tevez return look set to be dashed. A club insider rates the chances at 100/1, mainly because he’s on £250k a week at Juventus and won’t take a massive cut. He’s also rumoured to want to return to Boca Juniors, although how they would afford his wages, God alone knows.
