Newcastle haven’t won in ten games, and knowing what’s typical for us this will be their first win in eleven. I have to say I hope we whip them and Hull beat Man U. Newcastle is a club which has always had pretensions to think it’s bigger than it really is. Yes, they have a good stadium and great support, but in terms of achievement they rank behind us. Pity they never remember it.
I don’t see Sam ringing too many changes today. James Tomkins is fit to return and may well play alongside Winston Reid. Personally I’d give Reece Burke another runout and save Tomkins for next season, but that thought isn’t really relevant for Sam, I guess.
