Rumours abound on various sites this morning that Javier Hernandez, Chicharito, will be a West Ham target in the summer. He’s currently on loan at Real Madrid and has no long term future at Old Trafford and according to speculation would cost around £8 million.
I have always liked watching him play and he certainly knows where the goal is, scoring 37 times in 102 appearances at Old Trafford. He’s also bagged 38 goals in 70 appearances for Mexico, although he’s only appeared 12 times at the Bernabeu, scoring three times. At 26 he’s coming into his prime, or at least ought to be.
I said over the weekend I thought we needed to buy a Defoe like striker who could play alongside Carroll or Sakho. Is Chicharito the answer?
