FA charge West Ham

The Football Association have made a statement on their website this afternoon following an incident at the Everton v West Ham match at Goodison Park last Saturday

“Everton and West Ham United have been charged by The FA following their game on 22 November 2014. It is alleged that in or around the 40th minute of the fixture, both clubs failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion. The clubs have until 6pm on 1 December 2014 to respond to the charge.”

The incident followed Everton’s James McCarthy mis timed tackle on Morgan Amalfitano with West Ham players confronting Everton players.

Earlier this month Sunderland were fined £20,000 after admitting an FA misconduct charge of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion from their game against Everton. QPR also accepted an FA charge of failing to control their players during their 2-2 draw against Manchester City earlier this month.

If Everton and West Ham both admit the the FA misconduct charge they are likely to pay the standard fine of £20,000 each too.

One Hammers fan said If referee Mark Clattenburg had done his job in the first place by booking more Everton players for kicking our players in the air there wouldn’t have been protests from the West Ham side.
