Four Goals, Lots to Be Pleased About

I haven’t been able to watch the whole game, but what I didn’t watch I listened to on the radio. Quite how the commentator reckons Valencia is our record signing – something he said every time his name was mentioned – is beyond me. Andy Carroll cost £3 million more. Anyway I will leave the full match report to David Hautzig – he’ll be posting it tomorrow morning, but here are some pluses and minuses from tonight…

PLUSES

  • We scored two goals away from home.
  • Enner Valencia’s goal. Wow.
  • Our two strikers scored. When did that last happen?
  • Jenkinson got some action.
  • Song looked really solid when he came on.
  • Downing put in a very strong performance.
  • No one was injured.
  • Highest % possession (60%) of any game this calender year

MINUSES

  • We didn’t win.
  • We’ve only kept one clean sheet in the last 16 matches.
  • Diame scored.
  • Er, can’t think of any more…

Please add your own pluses and minuses.
