With a disastrous pre-season so far, not helped by the latest news that Ravel Morrison is being held at Her Majesty’s pleasure until 7 August, West Ham will be looking to put in a good performance this afternoon against the German side Schalke. The match is being broadcast live on Quest TV (Freeview – 37, Virgin – 172 or Sky – 167). Kickoff is at 4.45pm UK time.
Unfortunately Enner Valencia hasn’t travelled with the squad so we won’t get to see him, but Carl Jenkinson has, so he is likely to appear at some point. It will be interesting to see if Kouyate has recovered from the injury he sustained in New Zealand. Personally I hope we see as many of our new signings as possible.
I think the thing most of us will be looking for is whether our playing style has indeed changed to be a tad more entertaining. There was little sign of it in the matches in New Zealand, it has to be said.
So how about this for a lineup…
Adrian, Jenkinson, Cresswell, Tomkins, Reid, Poyet, Noble, Diame, Zarate, Downing Cole
