According to the Daily Mail West Ham are contemplating a loan move for Monaco striker Lacina Traore as news filtered through that Andy Carroll faces four months out because of ankle ligament damage.
If you have the feeling of Déjà vu with the Traore you are not alone. The 6ft 8in giant striker nearly joined the Hammers in January, but Traore opted instead to join Everton on loan instead after we did all the work to get him a work permit through an appeal hearing which he was represented by Sam Allardyce and club secretary Andy Pincher.
He scored on his debut for Everton against Swansea in the FA Cup in February but sustained a hamstring injury six days later in a warm-up ahead a game with Chelsea and missed the rest of the season. West Ham could look at a potential loan deal again.
Talking of work permits Enner Valencia will finally have his work permit appeal hearing next Tuesday with both Sam Allardyce and club secretary Andy Pincher expected to be present. Rumours of a Valencia injury and a failed medical seem wide of the mark with various club sources suggesting there is nothing wrong with him and there was no problem with his medical. Assuming the appeal hearing is successful he is expected to join the team out in Germany.
