Sam Allardyce’s weekly Evening Standard column always makes for a good read, and this week’s is no exception. Not sure Alan Pardew will agree, though.
I must say I was very disappointed with Alan Pardew’s comments following our 0-0 draw at Newcastle last weekend. After the game, he said: “West Ham did their usual, played the long ball and tried to slow the game down a bit.” I thought that showed a real lack of respect for me and, more importantly, my team. My advice to him would be to concentrate on his own job and forget about making comments about someone else’s.
Oooooh, saucer of milk for Mr Allardyce! But he’s got a point hasn’t he? If you look at the statistics from last weekend’s game. Newcastle played 54 long balls compared to our 38.
I used to really rate Pardew. No longer. Let;s be kind and put it down the fact that he suspects by the end of September he’ll be adding to the unemployment statistics.
