The Latest Developments

West Ham have officially announced that they have rejected a bid from Tottenham for Scott Parker. Sullivan said that he ‘made a promise to the West Ham fans which he will not go back on for any amount of money.’ Clearly very good news for West Ham that we can now actually rely 0n the board to do as they say and not sell behind peoples backs.

Valon Behrami is again being linked with an Upton Park exit with Roma the interested party. Roma have for some time now expressed an interest in bring Behrami back to Italy but nothing concrete has so far emerged. According to reports though a player + cash deal could be on the cards.

And onto one of the silliest rumours i’ve probably ever heard, apparently Carlton Cole is being linked with none other than Real Madrid! Obviously its someone on the internet trying to have a joke and i fully expect Cole to stay with us – especially as it has been announced he’ll be The Hammers new No.9

I will make a further transfer development post later, in the hope more wild and wicked rumours have been circulated, and who knows, possibly a transfer will be complete…

With regards the real madrid rumour. don't forget they loaned faubert from us, so anything is possible

  2. EarlsCHammer says:

And Mourinho did have Cole at Chelsea, did he not? Maybe he likes him, who knows. I don't think this one is true though!

  3. Soldier_Tom says:

The Berahmi deal looks dead in the water as the Roma President has said yes they like him but have other priorities and will not be contacting WHU … Cole to Madrid is not as rediculous as it sounds … the special one isn't stupid and does like Cole … I am very intrigued to see what happens in the next chapter of the Parker saga … what if he wants to go and paly Champions league football …

  4. Braderz says:

So Carlton Cole has the hardest decision of his life, a move to Stoke who will win nothing and battle to stay in the top flight or join the new era under Mourhinio, one of the best coaches in the world, deemed as the special one, who will take Real Madrid to big things, win La Liga, possibly claim a Champions legue title and light up the footballing globe.

I know the option id take…………..Stay at West Ham!

    • Soldier_Tom says:

Braderz, I don't think Stoke will ever struggle under Tony Pullis, they ain't pretty to watch but like Curbs + Charlton and Wimbledon and the crazy gang they are effective in staying up … for me I am untrigued at how the Geordies get on this year … Blackpool's bubble will last how long ?

I think this will be the tightest season ever in the Premiere league … Bolton and Wigan are playing football, Sunderland and Brum are steady sides, Stoke have a fortress at the Brtiania, Allardyce has made Blackburn boring but hard to beat … Newcastle are unknown and Wolves made it last year can they repeat the feat … all of them have made shrewd signings … achieving mid table this year will be no mean feat and I think the Gollivan clan know that …

      • Braderz says:

Is very true Soldier_Tom, the Prem is getting harder each year although i feel if we can strengthen our team in all the right areas then we will be fine next season. Only time will tell!

  5. Looks like Behrami is not heading to Rome:
    http://www.teamtalk.com/west-ham-united/6283168/R…

    Lets hope so …

  6. Apparently if the Remy deal is dead, West Ham will turn to get Mohammed Abdellaoue –
He's 24 and is available for £2m… Worth a punt at least from what I've heard of him

    • Braderz says:

I read that aswel in the paper, i don't think it's true and that the Remy negotiations are still ongoing after Nice confirmed that talks were on going the other day, there has been nothing yet confirmed to say we have pulled out of the deal.

      • Yeah, I hope we get some clarity on the situation soon

I really want to see Remy in Claret and Blue… I'm getting excited just thinking about him and Cole up top!

      • Soldier_Tom says:

Only that Stoke are looking elsewhere having had no joy with Cole … if we don't sell Cole will we be able to afford Remy ?

        • Braderz says:

I agree, it is a tough one, the length of this sage suggests 1 of 2 things, either the player does not want to sign and is waiting for a better offer or we are waiting to sell a player to therefore be able to buy Remy, i don't particualrely want Cloe to leave as i can imagine the blistering pace of both Barrera and Remy around him and it would work brillaintly. It's a tough one and we will just have to sit back and watch where this sage leads to, i was at one point very hopeful he would sign but at the moment, i don't see him coming to us.

  7. ekavall says:

After living in Spain for a year and a half and having a Spanish girlfriend, I know for sure that Real Madrid is utter shit. Conspiratory whining no matter what. If a Real player would break someones legs with a nasty tackle from behind, for sure some idiot would "come up with" footage from a strange satellite or something to show that it wasnt a foul and everybody are just against them.
It would be a step down for our Carlton to go there.

  8. Braderz says:

Off topic but Congratulations to Fabio Daprela who has been called up for the Swiss u21 squad!

  9. Apparently Kevin-Prince Boateng's move to Genoa has broken down.. Sign him up Avram!

    • Braderz says:

Agreed, i want both KPB and Belhadj to sign for us. Two great players who could really help us next season!

      • Soldier_Tom says:

I like both players Braderz, but I think we'd need to be shipping others out first … its all talk right now, as you know with this new 25 man ruling coming into force at the end of the transfer window it might be prudent to show a little patience and see what bargains appear …

  10. brerrsir says:

We do seem to being linked with a lot of players, of which NONE are English or British. I know we have a good crop of young home grown players allready, but i wouldn't like to see an over reliance on foreign mediocrity.

  11. eric_nyc says:

After what Scotty went through last season I think he will stick with us to reap the rewards of his hard work and better days ahead.

I feel he has been assured that we are headed in the right direction and wants the best for West Ham

  12. leehammer says:

in the great words of fergie ……i would not sell them a virus . well done sullivan its about time we had a chairman with some stomach and to show spurs that where never going to do buisness with them again ! . on any player leaving i carnt see it myself ulsess its spector or kovac our squad is thin anyway so where only looking t strengthen unless a player really wants to leave and that aint going to happen due to there wages paid by the previos regime .

    • VanHammer says:

Behind all the deadwood, we have a fantastic team. The trouble with last season is the deadwood was getting so much playing time. Ship out the Spectors, Kovacs etc and bleed our youngsters in slowly. Kids like Stanislas should have made the occasional impact sub apperance, yet he was playing most of the games.

    • hammerjames says:

only prob there is fergi did sell them a player but he wernt a virus

    • bloodylimey says:

In the words of Alex Fergueson " I wouldn't do business with that mob.." Yet he did when he sold Ronaldo to them. Does that make him a 2 faced liar…….?

  13. about time to !!! 2 owners standing up and being counted !!! tfft good on ya chaps and yes we do appreciate it !!! 1/2 more signings and were ready !!!

ps ive got a spare ticket for tonites game v mk dons if anyones short?

  14. bazzahammer says:

although i dont believe one ounce of it, the cole to madrid rumour isn't as far fetched as some may think. they have just released raul who has just signed for german club shalke. one of their best players (in my opinion) has also been released and signed for turkish club besiktas. like others have said he played for chelsea while mourinho was there and they were stupid enough to take a lazy, sleepy and under-par faubert off our hands for six months! im not cole's biggest fan and i do believe that piquionne can do just as good of a job as cole if not better.

not to sure about behrami though. yes he has the same drive as parker but he has such a different integrity. pasrker is english and wears his heart on his sleeve. if an offer of £8 mil no less came in i would take it.

good to see we have just appionted the ajax no.2 zeljko petrovic as avram's assitant. hopefully he will bring the young lad with him too!

  15. Help me out here, what do you mean Cole the new "number 9", is he switching uni numbers? If so, anyone want to buy last years 12 Cole shirt? haha

    • Completely off topic Chicago but whats with the exclamation mark and red marking against your posting counter?
Ps I think it would be daft if Cole charged number anyway I would say he'll be sold if any of these transfer rumours actually happen.

  16. bazzahammer says:

I would give Cole till January. If he hasn't improved on his fitness and isn't performing very well then show him the door. We have ready made replacements in Piquionne and Nouble. Yes Nouble is a little young but he showed me last season against Villa he has more than enough to handle the pressure of the premier league.

    • Braderz says:

Yeah i agree, id rather we kept Cole and see how he does for us, if Remy doesn't sign then we should look elsewhere for a similar player who is small and quick to work with Cole. For tonighs match, play 4-3-3:

      Green

      Tomkins Upson Da Costa Ilunga

      Noble Parker Hitzlsperger

      Faubert Cole Barrera

  17. Gobsmacked to see headline that Villa about to sign Young asI thought it must mean Ashley only to find its Luke. I honestly thought we would have signed him months ago as I understand he is a West Ham fan. Another opportunity missed. Liverpool also linked with KPB and Remy and have already signed Cole – it used to be 'Arry that knicked all our targets!

    • bazzahammer says:

completely agree would have loved us to have snapped him especially with the hammers connection, but looks like we will get clerc anyway so its not all bad

  18. brayhammer says:

Team for tonight has a few surprises
    1. Tomkins right back
    2. Two of the forwards are unknown to us, winger used play for Hamburg and the Argentina forward Milton close to Stanislas
    3. Diamanti in the hole behind the main striker (quessing Milton)
    4. No Berrera
    5. Cole & Piquionne on bench
    6. Upson captain
    7. Spector on the bench……….

    • I wouldn't read too much into Tomkins at RB. Clerc will hopefully sign, leaving Tomkins at CB. Surprised there was no Barerra though, I guess we are gonna put him in and out of the team to begin with and let him get to grips with the speed of our matches.

Gutted to see Upson as Captain……

  19. bazzahammer says:

hmmm, surprised to see caraglio in the line-up considering we've had no confirmation of his signing, or am i missing something…?

  20. Glas Sullivan has made the statement about Parker……. bloody Redknapp needs to do one, he is upsetting a lot of people right now, thinking he's Man City and throwing money around, I hope he bloody bankrupts them!!

Behrami, IMO, is one of the players I would let go, especially for the figures being mentioned. He is a good player, but I get the impression that he is not committed to us long term so cash in now while he is fit and got a good reputation.

I am a nice feeling if optimism for the coming season. Pre-season has been so much more better than last year, 4 games, 4 wins and 3 clean sheets. I know it's not against brilliant opposition, but a wins a win, and lookign solid at the back is a breath of fresh air!!

  21. lowestofthammer says:

The statement from David Sullivan Re: Scott Parker has, in my opinion, far more significance than the issue of will he stay or will he go. This has now become a matter of honour and trust in our new owners, and has far reaching implications for the future of the club.

Sullivans statement is unambiguous in the extreme. “He (Parker) will not be sold to anyone at any price that is a promise.”

Now Sullivan, Gold and Brady may be many things but stupid isn’t one of them, and that statement would not have been made without fully understanding the consequences.

They have very ambitious plans for the future of our club, plans that require the backing and trust of the supporters if they are to come to fruition. If Scott Parker leaves the club now for Tottenham or anyone else that trust will be in tatters.

I’m afraid that Scott Parker now finds himself in a position of having to sign a lucrative extension to his contract, or request a transfer that would undoubtedly be denied, and would leave him sidelined for the next three years.

The old arguement of not keeping a player at the club who doesn’t want to be there would not apply in this case because I firmly believe that Sullivan and Gold would happily pay his wages for the next three years and not have him in the 25 man squad just to prove a point to us the fans.

Prior to this statement I, like many others would have accepted Parker going to Tottenham for a lot of millions and perhaps Jamie O’Hara coming to us. But now I fear that the very future of West Ham United could depend on what happens with Scott Parker. Is this a new era for the club, or will it be more of the same…

  22. kiwihammer says:

has anybody discussed who the "25" might consist of?? Are we in danger of having to leave out any notable players??

  23. Mr-T says:

We play so many youngsters that it doesn't really affect us. A lot of our players are under 21, and it's my understanding you can have as many of them as you like. Plus we have an English core of senior players, which again helps our cause massively.
