Join the WHTID Facebook Group

From time to time, people have asked for a wider forum to discuss matters related to this site. I have now set up a Facebook Group for readers of the blog, which will make it easier for people who read the blog to interact with each other, assuming you’re members of Facebook of course.

I’ve just set up the basic framework. It’s up to readers to decide how the Facebook Group should develop.

    Hahahahahahaha

    No thanks

  2. Count me in Iain…and congratulations on setting it up. (I just joined the official West Ham Group a few weeks back) I think it's a great way to extend the blog further, but do you think you may see a shift in people visiting here? And will the Facebook group mirror what you, Chandos and the new fella post here?

I like many use facebook, and it's great to see you setting the group up.

P.S. I'm obviously not called dr_marshmellow on my Facebook.. I'm therefor wondering how many of us from here (who join) can guess who we are from our many pseudonyms we use on here :)

    Off Topic but,

Just been on the club website to order a shirt. I heard the away shirt was comming up big, but apparently the home one is just as big.

Looks like my boney little frame will only fit into a kids! Am i going to look a div in the kids?

I have to say i like the colours of the top but i think it looks well cheap. I had to buy an arsenal away shirt yesterday for a friends birthday and the difference in quality is staggering.

    • EarlsCHammer says:

Chris, I share your concern. I will refuse to wear a baggy shirt, end of. And I don't know how acceptable it is to wear a kids shirt for the season?!

I'm 5 ft 9 in and slim – anyone think the kit will fit?

If you look at Zavon Hines on the official site, he is wearing the new away kit and it fits him nicely. He's not a tall lad is he?

      • SkinnyChris says:

I'm 5 ft 10 and dispite the name i'm not overly skinny but a small (44 inch) will swamp me!

I wouldnt have a problem with getting the kids if it wasnt for the fact it has the bobby more trust on it. Dont get me wrong i think its a great charity but i want the same shirt our boys rock out.

So if i do get one im going to have to wait and try it on in the shop. i wanted to personalise it was well so cant risk ordering it online in case it doesnt fit.

How can you not notice that the shirts are the wrong size?

Did they not notice they we using more material than usual?

I think im just going to rock out a kids. Its £10 cheaper and I'm only going to wear it match day anyway.

        • EarlsCHammer says:

Yeah i wish the Bobby Moore fund logo was the main sponsor. I agree with you though – I want the same shirt they wear on field. Call me a loser, but that's why I buy a replica shirt!

I'm waiting to try one on in the shop before the Deportivo game. I like to get the Premier league badges, and as you say, if we customise it and it doesn't fit, we can't return them!

      • SkinnyChris says:

        forgot to say:

In the photo shoot the players might have had the shirts pinned back or they might have been altered

I would have thought that they would have some more shirts specially made for them to play in. a 44 would swamp Zavion and a lot of the other players. I'm about the same size as Noble!

        • eric_nyc says:

Bought a small as well. I'm 5'9". 44 chest seems big. Tucking it in is not going to look too cool at the pub unless i buy the shorts and socks :)

        • bazzahammer says:

the players get their kits personally designed for them. for example, dean ashton used to request a tight shirt for every game. and also have heard from another west ham blog that scotty parker like's his old school kit style and always requests black boots when ever he plays!

          • EarlsCHammer says:

I have noticed Scotty always wears plain black boots, and funnily enough I remember Deano went through a stage of wearing a long sleeve shirt with the sleeves folded back up underneath on his arms, like a 3/4 length top.

I get sad when I remember Deano. What an unbelievable talent!

If the small is too big for me I'm going to be really disappointed!

I am 27 next week, I can't be walking around in a youth size shirt with the Bobby Moore logo on! :)

          • SkinnyChris says:

Same here mate 27 in a couple of months and dont really like the idea of wearing a kids top either.

But as a mate said earlier there will either be a lot of adults wearing kids tops at upton park next season, or there will be a lot of adults wearing tents.

            what a cock up!

          • SkinnyChris says:

hello mate just to let you know i went on the club website this morning and it looks like they have sorted out the size issue.

            Smalls are now 38-40

still not sure if im going to get one though. After personalising it it works out to £58 (name, number & premier league badge). Thats actually more than i paid for a personalised Arsenal shirt and the quality is no where near the same as a Nike football shirt (Arsenal shirt wasnt for me).

          • Goatygav says:

Not surprising considering his haircut bazza ;) .

What was the post…….oh yeah Facebook!

  5. Off topic…. but breaking news on SSN right now i that Remy is on his way to have talks over personal terms on monday…. clubs now very close to agreeing fee.

Happy times at the Hammers… just as long as Haim deal doesn't come off haha

    • eric_nyc says:

Thats great news but i also think that means Cole will go and i will miss him. And he loves being a Hammer. Just when I really thought this was his year to shine.

  6. chrischris says:

Looks like Remy's on his way,if SSN report it,its usually 90% correct.
ifs its true I can see Cole being sold.
I would rather the money spent on a center back and fullback, but hey you cant have all ways!! at least Remy and Piqouinne can communicate, might be a good partnership in the making big man little man.

  7. Braderz says:

With the media indicating that favourable noises are coming out of the Nice boardroom with regards to securing the striker, Luic Remy, the tabloids seem united in one fact.

That fact being the implication that David Sullivan has flown to Nice to hammer in the last few nails in this transfer deal.

Rumours persist that Nice have accepted the fee we`ve offered for the striker and that Sullivan is urgently trying to tie up all the loose ends before Liverpool (and Roy Hodgson) try to swipe him from under our noses at the last minute!

  8. Braderz says:

Fingers crossed that this Remy deal goes through, i havn't seen anything on the SSN website, can someone tell me what has been said please!!! Thanks.

  9. Braderz says:

We have now been linked with a move for Silvestre, what are your thaughts on this guys???

  10. leehammer says:

if remycomes in ! cole is gone that is the only way we would spend that kind of money either that or sullivan got a bit off the missus !

  11. SkinnyChris says:

I guess Remy coming in would be good news but i really dont want Cole to go. I still think he has a lot to offer us.

I know i've said it a few times now but our defence was the area that needed strengthening the most….still no stronger. Three weeks to go which isnt a long time to get people in and get them organised.

    I can see it now….

"West Ham on the break, dispossessed, opposition on the counter, Tomkins on the half way line, Upson's lack of pace exposed, opposition take a shot, hits the post, but luckily Spector is there to head it home".
