New Feature: My Unsung Hammer Hero

I’d like to start a new series called MY UNSUNG HAMMER HERO. All you need to do is write up to 500 words about your favourite unsung and underrated West Ham player and why you admire him so much. A player will only feature once, and I’d like to encourage readers to write articles about players from the fifties and sixties as well as the modern era.

All you need to do is write up to 500 words and email me your article. I’ll do the rest. Assuming I get enough entries, I’ll post three or four each week.

Has any one else seen the "leaked" photo of the new home kit ?? love em both, home and away…………… which, reminds me of the kit my all time hammers hero wore.. Trevor Brooking.. what an absolute Gentleman, cultured footballer, lovely to meet him outside of football..and a ledgend respected by hammers fans and supporters of other teams equally. i have spoken to him and been honoured to have played against him (havering nalgo) where i could observe him from up close, Effortless…each time he was always polite and unasuming. he has a great record managing west ham, and is still regarded highly by the FA….. brilliant !!

thanks matt and braderz for stealing my lime light! was rushing back to site to tell others about the new kit! lol joking i prefer the home kit to the away kit but they are both blinding in my opinion! also like the return of the white socks. i know it is only a small thing but the claret or blue socks never really grew on me

Mark Ward was a creative midfield wing genius who always put in 100% plus the milkman from Rochdale, Alan Taylor, who won the Cup for us in 75!

there has been several posts every day, and a post yesterday has already notched up well over 100 comments.

Add to that alot of people work during the day, and hence their commenting ability is restricted.

    You, sir, are a douche.

Man I'm starving, how about you Aussie? What do you say 10 pizzas, extra large, extra toppings. 32a sutton court road. 30 mins or less.

Speaking of little babies, I'm gonna deal with the one who's woken up for feeding, she's a hell of a lot more stimulating than this little twat. Loving the new kits, I'll have to get her a couple, I have far too many I've horded over the years to get one every season but I'll snap these beauts up. Looking forward to when the other grown ups wake up to save to boredom with some decent discussions, back to daddy duties.

Excellent new kit both home and away and for those that expect to see Cole & Noble move to pastures new, I think the selected players suggests otherwise.

Unsung heroes. Bumped into Pat Holland a few months ago and had a long chat. Vastly underrated, as was Geoff Pike, who was overshadowed playing with Brooking and Devonshire, but still a good player in his own right.

The late Graham Paddon would also make my list. Brought balance to the side, cultured left foot and an explosive shot (Hitzlperger anyone?)

Anyway, not sure I will have time to pen 500 words, but look forward to reading the articles.

Was reading the official site today about Cole and the new kit. It says in it he is switching his number to 9. Pretty sure that also means he won't be leaving!!
