West Ham have reportedly upped their offer for Nice striker Loic Remy to £13million in the hope this will head off rival teams. Co-Owner Sullivan has also reportedly offered to pay the majority up front to ensure that Nice accept his proposal over all others, another bonus is that Roy Hodgson is refusing to meet Nice’s asking price of £13million and with Arsenal and Tottenham yet to make an official approach, The Hammers appear in the driving seat. The only problem with this being that, with another striker targeted, and no official word on the chase of Milton Caraglio yet, could a first team striker be heading for the Upton Park exit?
Another target of the last few weeks that has seemingly now disappeared off the West Ham radar is Asamoah Gyan. The Ghanaian had a cracking World Cup, and West Ham seemed to show a genuine interest at first, but since the beginning of July, no more has been said on the forward personally, i would prefer to see Gyan come in over Remy, however the West Ham board and management obviously feel Remy is the better option, the only concerns I have, is it worth paying £13million for a striker who see’s West Ham as his last option?
Unfortunately, its all too quiet on the transfer front at the moment after the arrivals of Piquionne and Barrera. The only other move expected to be near to completion is Tal Ben Haim’s switch from Pompey and, contrary to reports from the Jewish Chronicle last night, he didn’t fail his Upton Park medical – he excelled apparently, but he is yet to agree personal terms with the club.
As a little aside, my name is Reece Bateman and i come from sunny Southend in Essex. Iain was looking for someone who was able to add daily transfer updates to the site and I offered my services and he accepted, which i am very grateful for. I will hopefully be posting up the headlines each morning and if any serious transfer goings-on occur during the day, I will update in the evening as well. So thanks to Iain and Chandos for giving me this opportunity and thanks to you guys for reading. Let’s hope West Ham do manage to pull off a few more signings before the closure of the transfer window in 41 days.
AFTERNOON UPDATE
Things seem to have gotten a lot busier as the day has progressed and many reports are circulating that West Ham are close to tying up a deal for France international defender Francois Clerc. The 27 year old is available on a free transfer after leaving Lyon and West Ham are thought to be top of the pile to sign the player. Its a wise move in my eyes, as good as Faubert was, he isn’t a natural right back and Clerc has lots of experience both domestically and internationally and this could be an ideal signing for the Hammers. Could this be the end of Faubert though? With a new right back in place and the midfield looking full, could this be one of the first team players Avram is willing to sacrifice?
The chase for Loic Remy could also be over as far as West Ham are concerned as reports today suggest The Hammers are close to completing a deal for Argentine forward Milton Caraglio. .html obviously its not certain that West Ham will pull out of the running for Remy, but do The Hammers need both Remy and Caraglio? They already have Piquionne, Cole, Sears, Hines and McCarthy jostling for the striker roles, so if both Remy and Caraglio are to sign, could this see someone leave. Of all those listed, surely Cole looks the one most likely to generate top funds, but he is already performing well in pre-season. Most Hammers fans would love to see McCarthy sacrificed but no-one is surely stupid enough to buy him from us after how he looked at the tail end of last season.
Another striker who was apparently set to complete a move to West Ham until his manager blocked the move was Ajax forward Miralem Sulejmani. The move would have only been a year long loan deal, but Sulejmani was at one pointed rated as one of the top young attacking prospects in world football and he may have had enough flair to make West Ham an exciting team to watch again. Whether or not this deal can be resurrected is unsure, but that again would increase the front line even more, almost certainly paving the way for at least one forward to leave the club. For now though, this one looks dead, and it seems Avram and the board have their sights set on Remy and/or Caraglio.

Right im i the only person confused?
I thought you were some Irish chap in his 50's who sits in a bar in Cork, with his laptop, watching all the west ham games on Sopcast.
The plot thickens….is it the stig?
Do you mean Celtic Hammer?
yeah when i wrote the above i genuinely thought the new writer Reece was Celtic and was confused because i always thought Celtic was Irish.
Turns out Reece isnt Celtic and my post could be seen as taking the piss out of Celtic which was not the intention.
I quite like Celtics posts
Hello Reece, I am looking forward to reading all your posts and developing debates with fellow hammers fans on here.
I for one would love Loic Remy at West Ham, okay i don't know a great deal about him but if he is interesting top clubs then he must be good, what others have said is that he is very quick, very strong, is comfortable with both feet, can finish the ball very well and last season had a good goals to game ratio. He has been deemed the 'New Henry'.
However, what concerns me is how long it is taking to get this deal concluded, it is to my understanding that we have upped the offer to £13m which has cut off any other interest, Nice are pleased with this new offer and are eager to accept it, we have now got rid of the stumbling block which was the payment plan and are now willing to pay most of the offer up front. So everything should be fine, but why is it taking so long? Is it the player not wanting to come because surely it can't be as a week or two ago he was quoted as saying he wanted to come to us and that his heart is set on the premier legue.
The other question is will Arsenal step in, if they do though, they will have to match our offer which Liverpool have refused to do so we are currently in pole position to sign him but i have a really bad feeling that he won't end up at us, i hope i am wrong, but we will see how this all develops.
If he wants to come Braderz, I expect the deal to go through vuite quickly. The longer the delay, the more I think that one of two things is happening.
1) He doesn't want to come, because he wants to go to Liverpool or Arsenal
2) Nice want more of the money upfront and so are quietly making it known to other clubs that the £12M offer still stands if they can pay up more quickly.
I think Nice are happy with our offer and so is Remy but the club are tring to encourage Liverpool and Arsenal to enter bidding for him so they can get as much for him as possible, thats what i think anyway, but Liverpool have refused to bid more than £10m for him, we have now offered £13m and we will pay it all up front, to me, i think this deal will be done soon, BUT, i have a feeling that Arsenal or Spurs will pinch him from us. Would be typical.
Just thought I'd add, don't know if it has been mentioned on here but the Algerian World Cup goalkeeper Ruis M’Bolhi is currently training with us in Germany – You can see him diving in front of Piquionne's shot in a picture on the main site actually… Should be a great back-up to Rob Green and challenge him for the no.1 spot!
so we've managed to team up the 2 goalkeepers who managed 2 of the greatest flops in SA2010!
It's not the one who made a mess up mate, it was the one that played against us, he was good actually, what i remember anyway.
phew!! thanks for putting my mind at rest.
Anytime!! haha.
Faouzi Chaouchi was the one who was an embarrasment.
Just watched Thierry Henrys interview on Espn, why are Barcelona so good Work rate, always wanted to play in New York[paypacket me thinks] and loves Arsenal[we had no chance].If West Ham can double their Work rate we should be some team!
West Ham are closing in on the signing of Argentine striker Milton Caraglio, skysports.com understands.
The Hammers have turned their attentions to the Rosario Central hit-man as they look to bolster their attacking options.
Caraglio has been called up to the Argentina national team in the past, but saw injury prevent him from making his international debut.
West Ham have been frustrated in their attempts to bring in a new striker this summer, with a number of Premier League sides hoping to beat them to the signing of Nice ace Loic Remy.
Caraglio has now come onto West Ham's radar and the London outfit are believed to have agreed a fee in the region of £5million for the 22-year-old.
Caraglio is also thought to have agreed personal terms on his switch to Upton Park and is awaiting the necessary paperwork before making the move to England
Could both Remy and Caraglio be on there way to Upton Park? Interesting.
Looks like Caraglio has issues with his knees….just what we need at the moment.
Don't we always sign injured players, it is becoming a habbit!
Will he get a work permit? He doesn't have the prerequisite international appearances. Does he have a dual EU nationality?
I think it is okay, im not sure thats a good point Tony.
West ham have agreed a 5 million pound fee for Argentina striker Caraglio and is flying to London after agreeing personal terms.gutted about Remy!
Doesn't say that their not after Remy, does this spell the end fo diamanti?
Or Cole? Hope not.
You could be right, Diamanti and Kovac were expected to leave, id imagine we would sell Diamanti for about £5m and Kovac for about £3m, thats £8m overall which would pay for the Caraglio signing and leave £3m spare. I hope ive got my maths right haha, i don't mind Kovac leaving but i would like Diamanti to stay!
I would be shatted if Diamanti left… for me I loved watching him play, so unpredictable.
I don't think the Remy deal is Off just yet AussieGraham, we are still the only team with an offer on the table for him which Nice should accept as we are going to pay most of the funds upfront to them. Both of the mcould be on there way, this to me though could signal that Cole could be leaving, i would rather we kept Cole and then we would have 5 solid strikers in Caraglio, Remy, Piquionne and Cole and don't forget old Benni McCarthy, then with youngsters like Hines and Nouble pushing through, we would be sorted up front. Interesting times ahead i think.
More Transfer News:
Liverpool’s bid for Loic Remy seems to have hit the rocks.
Remy would like to leave Nice for Merseyside but the Reds’ £10 million bid is lower than West Ham’s revised bid of £13 million but the Hammers’ are only willing to part with £4 million up front – Nice wanted a £7.5 million down-payment, something which West Ham have now agreed to.
Meanwhile Arsenal are now said to be interested. Eduardo has left for Shakhtar Donetsk in a £5.9 million deal and the club are said to be on the look-out for a replacement.
West Ham Close In On Lyon Defender Clerc As Ben Haim Deal Stalls
West Ham are closing in on Lyon defender Francois Clerc. The 27-year-old is a free agent, his contract with Lyon having come to an end. Clerc signed for Lyon as a 16-year-old and made his debut in 2005. He made 137 appearances for the club as well as appearing for the French national team on 13 occasions.
Meanwhile, West Ham’s signing of Tal Ben-Haim has hit a snag after the defender failed a medical. The Hammers are asking for a second opinion after discovering a groin problem with the Israeli defender. Ben Haim missed a large part of last season with a groin injury.
isn't clerc a fullback?! Pretty sure i seen him play there for france? Surprised he on a free too, don't think he is that old!!
Reading The Sun article "Hammers could Kop Remy"…. I just don't understand why the Nice's CEO is waiting for Liverpool if we meet all their requirements?
Hello mate its an issue with the payment installments.
Nice are having a bit of financial difficulty themselves and need the cash up front. I think the difference of the bids is that liverpool will pay the majority up front where as we want it spread over 4 years.
So even if the amount offered by liverpool, spurs the other club is lower than our bid it might be more attractive to them
That now though has been apperently resolved so things should move forward more swifly and a deal should be completed, BUT, you just never know what will happen in these transfer windows!
Did anyone read on the website that the players have been trying out different sporting activities.
Some people were bike riding, Diamanti and Da Costa did well at tennis.
And Dyer i hear you ask? Well he performed best in the sports quiz?! they're taking the piss right?
lol no surprise dyer on tht, he has been sat on his arse so long all he does is read sport news.
I think they meant football tennis too not actual tennis, which with diamanti's touch u can see why he was apparently so good! If im wrong though maybe because of last year they have all thought why bother this year, we'll all try another sport! lol
With regards to strikers we are targeting i already think our strike force is good enough to get us midtable. Our defence though is good enough to get us relegated!!
Where are the defenders Avam? WHERE!
I entirely agree, yes it would be great to have both Caraglio and Remy at West Ham to frther inprove our strike force but last year we were horiffic at defending and i am concerned that no defenders are yet to have been signed, the two i know we are linked with are Ben Haim and Lyon defender Clerc but wether anything is happening or not is another thing, we really do need to sort our defence because last year it was a nightmare!
Spence, Tomkins, Da Costa, Daprela
Agreed we need some defencive reinforcements.
We are Man Citys mini me, signing every player for a quarter of the price, hopefully we get better players!
Where in Australia are you from Graham?
who are the latest ins and outs?… I didn't know Piquionne was confirmed…
West Ham are also interested in taking young prospect Miralem Sulejmani on loan form Dutch outfit Ajax Amsterdam!
However current coach Martin Jol has blocked the move because he thinks he will get aenough playing time at Ajax.
Apparently Miralem Sulejmani is absolutely furious that Jol is blocking the move, saying that he is destroying his career and that Grant sees him as a great prospect and who can give us a little cutting edge.
This has only been in the Dutch papers up till now
I thaught Martin Jol was going Fulham so stuff what he thinks lol.
that move is looking less and less likely I believe, Ajax are refusing to negotiate.
That is why I,m hoping that he will leave for Fulham.
Hope this clears up the Remy story:
West Ham have increased their bid for Nice striker Loic Remy to £13million.
And co-owner David Sullivan has apparently offered most of the fee up front – a major sticking point to West Ham's initial £12-million offer, as the Hammers wanted to pay Nice in four installments.
Nice were unhappy about West Ham's proposal, claiming that the Hammers didn't have enough money and were therefore trying to get away with only having to part with some of the fee, hoping that Remy's price would rise in the Premiership and that they would then be able to sell him on for more.
And that prompted Liverpool to enter the picture, with Nice saying that the Anfield outfit could have the striker should they match West Ham's offer.
But West Ham are determined to get their man, and hope the new bid will do the trick.
The 23-year-old scored 14 goals last season for Nice, having enjoyed a successful campaign the year before, too. He has been likened to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, due to his lightening pace.
ESPN are stated that Arsenal have joined the race
"On Tuesday we received a new proposal from West Ham, for a full payment in cash," Nice chief executive Partick Governatori told L'Equipe.
"If Liverpool want to sign Loic, we need clear rules and commitments from them. But West Ham are hot for the player and we want to complete the transfer before the end of the month."
Tomorrow may well be good day for us Hammers. Remy deal is alive and kickin', not to mention that the new Home Shirt will be revealed next day.
Happy days.
Agreed
reveal your sauces? ketchup or hp?
Quotes from Nice President, it appears we really want Remy, and president looks like he wants a bidding war. But at the minute, our offer looks to goo to refuse.
My guess as to why Nice are stalling on the deal is that and sale is likely to contain additional clauses with regard to preformances and future sell ons. In this case Liverpool would be a much better option as the player is likely to achieve more at the club with regard to gaining champions league entry or winning trophies, this in turn raises his profile and means he is likely to command a higher transfer fee when he does move to another club meaning Nice get more cash.
"Wolves, West Ham and Blackburn are locked in three-way tussle to sign striker Benjani, who is a free agent after leaving Manchester City."
I sincerely hope that we're not involved in this "tussle"!!
I don't beleive that story if im honest, the ones i believe are Remy, Caraglio and the guy from Ajax, if Martin Jol leaves Ajax and Joins Fulham then the striker we are linked with from there, sorry im not sure of his name, will more than likely join us on a season long loan. If we sign all 3 which would be incredible our strike force would be pretty decent with the likes of Cole, McCarthy, Hines, Nouble, Piquionne, Remy, Caraglio and this guy from Ajax, would have excellent choices enabling us to rest players when needing to. But if we do sign all 3 which like i say would be exceptional, then i imagine that Cole or Diamanti will be on there way out, i would much rather we kept Cole and Diamanti and just sign Remy out of the 3. What concerns me is that we have shown little interest in defenders, our weakest part in the team!
Me too Jack. I have never rated Benjani and I can't see how he would be any improvement on what we've already got.
i've tried to post this a couple of times now, 3rd time lucky.
if G&S are really looking to spend £13 mil on remy, i dont see y they dont make a bid for roman pavlyuchenko or hugo rodallega who have already proven they can score goals in the prem. spurs seem to wanna get rid of roman and i'm sure they take upson as a cash + player deal and i'm sure wigan would sell if the price was right. dont get me wrong i'd love remy but its taking too long and the longer it takes others slip away.
good point.
I'm definitely agreeing that we need some defence strengthening.
If we got Remy we'd have a brilliant (yes brilliant) forward line.
Our midfield is already quite good I believe, but our defence is looking like our weak link by far at the moment.
With Avram comes a fresh perspective. Maybe he sees strengths in our existing defense that Clarke/GZ didn't. And it's very possible he can get a different performance out of them.
According to Newsnow, we've got more fingers in more transfer pies than i can keep up with.
in no particular order;
Loic Remy – new bid made and accepted. Nice want Liverpool to match or beat the offer otherwise he is on his way to the Boleyn. PLEASE GOD LET IT HAPPEN!
Miralem Sulejmani – offer made for 1yr loan. Player wants to come but blocked by club mgmt. IF JOL MOVES TO FULHAM AND REMY FALLS THROUGH THIS COULD BE BACK ON?
Francois Clerc – done deal by all accounts. Free transfer on a Bosman for the French international RB – YES!!!!!!!! Is this the end of Spector?
Milton Caraglio – further reports that a £5m move has been agreed AND completed! Little known about him – either a very shrewd move or a complete mistake!?
Tal Ben Haim – all gone quiet on the Isreali front – alleged inability to agree personal terms look like scuppering the deal.
So – 2 more strikers due to join the club and a much needed RB – that would make 31 pros at the club with a squad size limited to 25 by PL rules – looks like 6 players at least would have to leave………..
Unreal all this transfer news isn't it. Would love Remy and Clerc and that will do just fine. Outgoings is tough: Spector, Kovac, Upson, Dyer, Gabbidon and 1 other.
McCarthy or Sears
If Remy was to sign for us, our options in foramtion would be excellent. I would opt for 4-2-3-1 formation, ? = an unkonwn player that i hope we sign.
Green
? Da Costa ? Ilunga
Parker Hitzlsperger
Remy Diamanti Piquionne
Cole
Im unsure as to weather i would play Faubert at right back or play this Clerc guy there. Any suggestions on players to go for guys???
I forgot about Barrera haha our midfield is really strong it's tough to pick.
Isn't it fun being a hammer at the minute
Knowing us though, we won't get Remy, Caraglio or Miralem Sulejmani and we will end up with useless Benjani. But hey it is nice to see us linked with some good players for a change!
Mate we're linked with good players every single window but we never get ANY of them lol
True haha!
I don't know about you lot but i am getting 0 work done here – newsnow, sky sports, west ham home page and this all on different internet tabs and has been that way for the past 3 weeks ha ha!
I love the transfer silly season!
COYI!!!
Agreed. Focus percentage is in the negative numbers. COYI!!!
Afternoon all..this is latest on Milton Caraglio… apparently agreed £5 mill deal…
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6272…
I hope you are all enjoying my posts? I'd be very grateful if you could let me know how I'm doing, I'm new to this editing lark and would really like some encouragement please
Hey Reece, is going really good, am enjoying this post, transfer news is coming in all the time. Keep it up!
good to have someone like you, this is the first website i visit to see if there are any movements involving west ham .
anyone seen on the WHUFC website the squad took part in a sports quiz and dyer won ! so he hasn't been on the XBOX for a whole season , he has been swatting up watching the last twenty years of question of sport then lol !
Oh perleeease – this guy posting above is about as much Reece Bateman (or Celtichammer for that reason) as I am Prince Philip! I don't know who Reece Bateman is but he is NOT Celtichammer and this is NOT him asking for encouragement – no editor (new or old) would post a message on hi blog asking for a pat on the back.
Get real people – all you lot that arse kissed this guy in the last thread and this one have been idolizing a false prophet!
Jeez!
Which one Matt – the one posting under celtichammer or the one posting under Reece Bateman. It looks very much like someone's set themselves up with a Intense Debate account as Reece Bateman & is passing himself off as him by posting under that name. Then again CH could be posting under both and the Thumbs Down Phantom has gone ballistic on his posts. Would be quite ironic if the Thumbs Downer had gone after the wrong poster.
Sorry not allowed to talk about it anymore! Iain has just banned me from talking about Reese! LMFAO
Would the real CelticHammer please stand up!
And I bet you slept all cosy last night didn't you? lol
Sorry mate but there are very few people Iain likes and Celtic isn't one of them
So in that case would the REAL Celtic and the REAL Reese Bateman please stand up and prove me right
If we close all the players that we're closing in on then we'll have the biggest squad in the Premier League come kick off on 14th Aug – & more than half of them will be strikers. Perhaps we'll stick Carlton Cole at right back?
I think Man City will have the biggest squad but we wont be far off.
Matt Ryan, I'd be grateful if you wouldn't presume as to who I like and dislike. You have never met me, so how would you know. I am growing rather tired of your rantings about Reece. Please stop it.
Whatever
Matt I dont know what is going on with you and this Reece guy but you are right when you say he isnt me.
Nice to know that at least one person on here knows there is only one CelticHammer!
Had ya back mate! It's so clearly not you
Going on with me and Reece? Absolutely nothing mate! I was merely replying to posts about his identity and I may have asked who he was once or twice but apparently that's not allowed! lol
Anyway, glad to see you about mate
SSN has now confirmed that we are currently winning the race to sign Remy, i will copy and paste story as and when it comes up.
West Ham are winning the race to sign coveted Nice striker Loic Remy after making an improved bid.
The 23-year-old has attracted interest from a host of clubs throughout Europe, with Roy Hodgson's Liverpool also linked with the striker.
After having a couple of offers rebuffed, the Hammers have now reportedly agreed to pay the €13.5million fee for the player in just one payment, rather than in instalments which was originally proposed.
This new offer seems to have swayed the race in their favour, with Nice's general manager Patrick Governatori confirming to L'Equipe that they are very close to an agreement with the Hammers.
He said: "We received a new offer from West Ham which seems good and suits us.
"If Liverpool want him, we need clear arrangements and commitments. West Ham are very keen. And we want to sort out that case before the end of the month."
Can someone fill me in here guys because I am obviously missing something. I have only ever posted on any site as CelticHammer and never heard of Reece Bateman until I clicked on this thread.
These days I actually only post on this site and occasionally on Sams, West Ham Process site.
Don't sweat it mate, it's obviously your 'mate' that's posting and to be honest, I can't believe this lot fell for it! Oh well…….
Well have no idea who anyone is… i know the regulars, being one myself… anyway back to the gossip ladies lol
Just on SSN website…. Clec French Inerntional is yet ANOTHER target apparently…
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11685_6272…
hmmm. im not actually that pothered who posts an article or who this reece bloke actually is, im just glad theres so good bantering and debate to be had with level headed people.
however, i must say that mr.bateman does seem a little too chirpy to the CH we are used to. i have also never known celtic to be bothered too much with what people think of him. so saying this like i hope you all like my posts is a tad mysterious.
even so, a very good post and the debate has been very good.
season ahead looks pretty rosey…COYI!!!
The fact that anyone can post under an assumed, sometimes impersonating, identity is one of the main detractions from the site now. it is the same flaw that allows someone to click the thumbs down icon 26 times every time Matt posts. Now, Iain can tell me to 'get a life' as much as he likes but I know that there is an increasing number of former regular posters who feel the same way.
It is a great shame imo. WHTID remains the best blog site around but the failure of the administrators to iron out these issues, or indeed to take them at all seriously, means that its character is undoubtedly changing – in my view for the worse.
Just a view guys.
And a view well made mate
Just read back through your posts. Am struggling to spot which bits fall in to the category of 'rantings'.
Fact is, whether Iain likes it / understands it or not, when you post on a site as much as you and others like you do, it sort of becomes a part of you. You actually, sad though it is, begin to care about it! So, when things occur that undermine its reputation and integrity, you have an opinion right? And sure, Iain can come back with the 'it's my site and if you don't like it' retort but all the while I am allowed to post (perhaps not much longer!!) I intend to make my views clear. That, I guess, is what a debating blog is all about.
Headmaster, I am glad you care about the site. So do I, and I much enjoy your contributions. My main point to Matt Ryan was that I do not appreciate it when he continually ascribes views and motives to me that I do not have. He pretends to know who I like or do not like, yet has never met me and hasn't a clue.
Of course a site is about full debate and that's why I started it in the first place. If I didn't enjoy debate, I wouldn't be into politics. But I draw a line at any commenter either insulting me or pretending they know what I think.
If Matt Ryan doesn't like that, he knows what he can do.
When the hell did I insult you???? Come on Iain, you wanna throw knives, then throw them but don't you dare pretend to even insinuate that I insulted you!
I admit, I made a judgement on whether you like Celtic or not and I BELIVE THAT YOU DON'T! Why? Because of the way you act!
I never insulted you and resent the fact that you say I did!
I wasn't aware that Matt 'continually' ascribes views to you Iain although I have to admit that it may not have registered with me if he has done so before.
I appreciate your endorsement and also the fact that you have put up a survey on the thumbs down thing, although I have my doubts about how you can be sure that posters are only contributing once but maybe you do have a way of ensuring that. It will be interesting to see the results – certainly on the thread so far I can see no one actually embracing the thumbs down element!
Mate I am after Matts world record of 26 thumbs down start pressing!
Is that all I got??? Really gotta try harder! lol
Wear it as a badge of honour mate ,Respec!lol
The Survey Monkey software prevents multiple voting.
I shall keep my views to myself now mate on the blog to air views
Why would Faubert make way for Clerc? His position would be further up field thus giving us an even stronger hand in midfield as some width!
The best news of the day is that West Ham have refused Villa's bids for Parker effectively saying they can't afford him!
Methinks Sullivan might be getting feedback from posts on here.
What I really like about out transfer dealings atm is the fact no one really knows who we are pursuing. This is the way to play the transfer market.
Things are achanging down at the Boleyn and I have a good feeling about the up and coming season with Grant at the helm.
Agree Devo – this is by far more stimulating than the same period last year which was distinctly underwhelming and, of course, was followed by the most disappointing of seasons.
Well you shoulod be "pothered" lol
hehehe
now that's just plain pedantic Mr Ryan
Shoulod ?
cheers _E1, and yes matt i am ashamed at my spelling and will make a spell check after every post lol
All looking good at the moment. We are being linked with quality signings at least.
Hope just a couple of these deals come off but I cant get over last summers window when we was according to Sky and Newsnow, signing a whole bucket load of players and then… nothing.
We have signed three decent players so thats 300% better then last summer.
Master bateman great stuff!!!
Is he Celtics right hand man? no offence intended Celtic or whoever
Although this is all riviting stuff and it's nice to see West Ham in the matket for players, do we have a hidden wealth of defensive options somewhere that no one outsidae the club is aware of or are we going for the Ossie Ardiles style of 1 3 6 and hope if we let in 6 we score 7???
Too right djd. The season we ended up 9th was built on a solid defence that leaked very few goals. Having had to pick the ball out of our own net so fewtimes we picked up numerous single goal wins allowing us to challenge for Europe. Then last season came around and it all fell apart at the back.
Very excited about all of the latest rumours! What about this team:
………………….Green……………….
Clerc…….?…….Da Costa…….Daprela
……………Parker…..Hitz…………
Faubert…….Remy………Barrera
…………………..Cole………………
Still need to think of a Centre Half as I don't want Ben Haim! I still want us to bid for Onuoha though… Wishful thinking and all that.
Great looking team mate and with the likes of Piquionne, Caraglio and Diamanti on the bench, would look a healthy team.
Is Remy the playmaker we have lacked, or is he a striker.
To make a few quid on Englands Cricket team at 11/4 odds to come down here and win the Ashes after they got rolled for 88 today seems a great bet I cannot wait for Novembers first test at the Gabba, England smash them and West Ham top of the League, yes!
Have we sold Upson? No-one seems to be including him in their team. On this note who does everyone think we will be offloading before the season starts? And something else thats bothering me how do you pronounce Loic Remy (and I know how to say Remy).
haha yeah i've been wondering whether it's loic as in loy-ck or loy-s or lo-eece
