Pablo Barrera’s Top Ten Goals

Look out for number 4. I;m not sure too many Premiershop defences will part so easily, but all the same, wow. On this evidence, he looks a real talent. But then again, so did Savio…

Lets hope he can do this in the prem for us, will tear deffences apart with his pace, skill and finishing ability.

  2. HammerRay says:

If he settles in he could be fantastic. Great skill and work rate looks excellent, almost Tevez like! Hope he proves to be as good as he looks and doesn't turn into another Jiminez/ Savio.

  3. bazzahammer says:

a lot of good goals there. agree that the "english" defences wont be as easy to glide past. the guys got skill. kinda reminds me of joe cole ;)

  4. Mr-T says:

The lads got confidence. We really do need players who aren't scared to run at defenders. Deprela and Da Costa were the only ones who did it often enough for me.

  5. DevoDevo says:

Great technique, that's for sure. Not afraid to have a pop from distance either.

Fingers crossed he settles in England.

  6. leehammer says:

most you tube videos of players are normally crap but this lad seems to just want to have a go all the time , he could be really good for us , I'm just worried he wont settle , we should of kept franco he put a shift in for us and he would of helped this geezer settle in .

  7. Could he prove a bargain?
Looks like my kind of player, he's not afraid to take on people! Very optimistic

  8. Off topic but I feel this needs to be brought to the light.
Just read an artical on Westhamfans.org about how we are able to pay for all these players:

"Although many of the squad are up for sale, and there are dubious reports of a foreign investor, it appears that West Ham co-owner, David Gold, is the mystery source of income funding Avram Grant's mini spending spree. David Gold has sold his private jet company in order to free up the funds needed to give the club the ability to be aggressively active in the transfer market, without needing to have a fire sale of existing players, their sales can come later."

    David Gold is a legend.

    • Dujonwhu says:

If that's true then great stuff David Gold.

This new management has been copping alot more from some fans than they deserve.

Sure last season they made various mistakes in terms of what they said and how they treated Zola, but they seem to have changed (positively) in the last month or two.

  9. chrischris says:

lets hope he has enough pace for the prem.

  10. Jolly says:

Nouble has just scored 2 for the U19's Vs Austria!

  11. lawro says:

The most significant aspect for me was the fact he seemed equally comfortable with both feet! Should get a good fee when we sell him on to a bigger club.

  12. Razor says:

As he looks like class act ian just hope he can settle ok and he certainly dont lack confidence fingers crossed but hope we can start getting some quality in other positions rb and a decent cb to go with tommo da costa after selling upson and deadwood agree mr t but dont undertand posts that say hope we are not spending too much? 5mill on 4players from someone with 500 mill cash each and will recoup more with selling the crap we have and im allowing we pay someone to take spector off our hands as well hope you enjoyed your hols mate

  13. johnnycash says:

Just seen the goals from yesterdays friendly, Cole's was a decent header and McCarthy's was a sweet volley, McCarthy's was a good goal but he still looks like he is carrying some extra lumber around the middle. I hope we sign another striker because I don't fancy having to rely on him all season. It's a shame because I always thought he was a decent player but it does seem he has let himself go a tad. I also hope I am wrong and he starts the season flying but I am doubtful at this point.

  14. Braderz says:

Guys guys guys, Remy could still become a hammer as Liverpool are yet to match our offer for Remy. The Nice President has said we have offered what they want for him but aren't too pleased with how we want the payment done, but Liverpool or Spurs are yet to offer for him, but we have. I reckon Liverpool and Spurs may pull away, let us have him for a season, if he deos well in the prem the noffer for him next year, thats my thinking, so Remy could still be on his way to Upton Park, come on G&S just pay it outright for him and he is ours, stop faffing around and get the deal done. Full story is on SSN.

    • Brentwood says:

Braderz as much as i would really love to see Remy in our line up… and i really would. A club in debt like ours cannot lash out 12 million in one go. The chairmen are right to try to engineer a payment plan, if he gets injured, thats 12 million on the sideline……… and we moan about Dyer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we get Remy, brilliant, but dont get us further in the financial mire, just to have a headline signing.
England has a few players i wouldn't mind in claret and blue, Rooney, Gerrard, fat frank, even Ashley cole, but even though they are big name.s.. they couldn't / didn't play well together. Fulham did well last year, id be supprised if any of their players cost more than six million, but the manager made them into a team, work for each other…. i think Avram will make the team Gell…. with or without Remy.

      • Braderz says:

I don't think it will damage our debt though mate, Gold has sold his share in an air-line and i think we will use money from that or G&S general wealth which is a lot. Facts remain that Harry Redknapp said we are after a striker from Nice and Harry is yet to offer fo him, Roy has spoken about him but Liverpool havn't offered as Roy never signs players who he has never seen play but West Ham have put an offer on the table for Remy and they have now got the option 'take it or leave it' and i think it will be down to the player in the meeting the club and he are having tomorrow, and i think Remy will take the chance at playing in the prem straight up for several reason, to gain prem experience, play in one of the best legues in the world, gain a name for himself and be sold on in a few years to a top top club, as stated we are in pole position for him and i can only see the president of Nice saying this to the media to try and start an auction as if to say to Liverpool, you want him, then come and get him, if not hes going to West Ham, fingers crossed hey!

        • Brentwood says:

          Theres a meeting tomorrow ?? i didn't know that.

Just because Gold as sold his airline, doesn't necessarily mean he is ploughing the money into west ham.

          • Braderz says:

Yeah the club president is having a meeting with Remy tomorrow to discuss his future and it appears to discuss a move to us as were the only offer on the table for him and i can't see him saying no.

And well if not i would imagine they are paying for him with there own personal money, they have a combined wealth of over £1billion so possibly they are doing it that way.

          • celtichammer says:

            Eaxctly.
For starters I simply cant see the daves passing up the opportunity to tell everyone if gold did sell his company to fund the club!
The fact is he disposed of a company which was operating in a declining market.
Such is the delusion amongst some fans that they will interpret any move made by the daves to be done as part of some sacrifice by the Gollivan for the sake of the club or as a means of building this laughable legacy that supposedly consumes them!
It reminds of the scene in The Life of Brian where John Cleese and others followed Graham Chapman arround interpreting everything he did as a sign that he was the messiah!

          • Braderz says:

Well you never know Celtic, if we sign Remy, i will have to hand it to the two daves as they will have signed a very good fourth player, then all we need is a cb my choice would be mokoena from portsmouth and a right back, then job done and lets hope for a positive season.

We must look at keeping Parker, Cole and Diamanti. Upson can go along with Kovac and Spector and if we get a high offer for Behrami we should seriously consider it.

Here's hoping for a good season.

            C.O.Y.I.

          • Brentwood says:

Al Fayed sold Harrods including Harrods air……. i suppose fulham are now going to challenge chelski ??!!! Dont think so,
David Gold is not the messiah………. bet he's been a very naughty boy !!

          • Goatygav says:

            Snigger. Welease Bewami!

          • Headmaster says:

Having spent the weekend trying to get a flight to Turkey, being previously booked with Goldtrail, I do hope that wasn't down to Mr Gold!

          • AussieGraham says:

Are you our new Turkish scout?I hope your not going to comeback without a decent player!lol

  15. AussieGraham says:

Dont you love the strategy by the president of Nice to try and start an auction in public with Liverpool through the media!truth is ours is the only genuine offer on the table for Loic Remy and Woy says he has never seen him play!good try mate but our offer and method of payment plan are all you have, take it or leave it!

  16. AussieGraham says:

If Liverpool or Spuds wanted a player it would have been done!can any club hi-jack the Ben Haim deal and we will throw in Spector Free!Frank Nouble in time could become a very decent striker and under Avram he will blossom.

  17. bazzahammer says:

if gold has sold his his firm to free up funds for us, then what more could we ask for! (celtic).

im not overly bothered about remy to be honest, too much money on an unproven, (probably) egotistic, young striker! kind of hoping liverpool or the spuds do put a better offer then us.

just been reading the article about david gold on westhamfans.org. a poster has said we have bid 10 mil for ronaldinho, and apparently ac milan are willing to sell. now look, im the rational type, so obviously im going to immediatly push that whoel dream aside :(

    • VanHammer says:

10 for Ronldinho, we may as well get Ronaldo if we're going for over the hill Brazilians. I'd rather we went back in for Adriano. Speaking of Brazilians, I went on a date with this blond last week. She asked how many girls I'd slept with, I said "just you and one Brazilian". She replied "oh my god that's disgusting!! …….how many are there in one brazillion?"

  18. Sactownhammer says:

Out of this roster, who is playmaker in the middle? Still would be nice to pick up a starting defender.

  19. bazzahammer says:

just read an article stating that piquionne has apparently told us fans not to compare him rooney or fernando torres…

lol, don't worry mate, we aren't…

    • AussieGraham says:

Compare him to Clyde Best and Ade Coker!lol

      • bazzahammer says:

unfortunatly my good friend, i was not around in those times to remember such players. so i took it upon myself to look them up. i have to say clyde best had a much better record than ade. my old man would know a great deal more about them than i do though. still, i think piquonne could prove a good player this season.

        • AussieGraham says:

Showing my age unfortunately but I reckon if we can rekindle the winning spirit the wow factor will return!Winners are Grinners!

          • bazzahammer says:

hopefully, grant seems to be doing exactly that at the moment. we need a good season. a good finish in the league and maybe a good cup run. forget about superstars, if the boys we have at the moment play like a team, fight for each other, and generally give a damn, that will do for me!

  20. TeabagLA says:

How can you compare Savio to Barerra please just the check the facts of the matter hopefully if Barerra is not hacked to pieces we have got ourselves a Top Top player!!
