Only 8% boo a player who isn't trying?!? Leave it out.
92% of those polled weren't anywhere near UP for the Wolves home game then. Even my very elderly and very respectful dad told me the entire upper East Side (where flat caps and a stoic outlook are prerequisites) were hammering the team when the 3rd goal went in.
We have nearly all changed. In the halcyon days before Terry Brown's bond scheme, everyone was staunch. I remember us going down at Anfield one hot sticky night, but nobody blamed the team or openly caned Lyall. I look back on it as one of my favourite games with us all singing We'll Meet Again and turning up in force at Stoke for another 1st Div campaign.
Then, as I say, the relationship between us as fans and them as players/owners changed. The bond scheme brought huge mistrust and there has been a disconnect ever since between the fans and players/owners as we have lurched from one inept owner to the next. They have become mercenary and we have become fickle. We and they need to go back.
So, the boo figure here looks wrong to me. Either the vast majority of posters on this site are lying, suffering from wishful thinking or are atypical fans. I still love you all though…
Doc…I was at the Wolves game and didn't boo a single player.
Fact is, I was so busy screaming abuse at the lazy, good-for-nothing chancers that I never got round to booing.
That performance was the single worse display by any team in West Ham colours that I can ever recall.
Maybe Iain should have added a category that asked the question: Have you ever been so disgusted with our team that you would have gladly kicked everyone of them up the nuts if you bumped into them in the street.
100 per center all day long.
Doc, I too was at the wolves game and did not boo. Neither did i join in the singing of 'You're not fit to wear the shirt' that rung out after the 2nd and 3rd goals went in. However i fully endorse the comments of Lofty and would have been delighted to have joined in a game of collective nut kicking!
For what it;s worth – i went to the game with a Wolves supporting friend of mine. He called our performance laughable and said, (and i quote), "If that were my team, i wouild want the manager gone by midnight!".
can the 7% who earn over a hundred grand pls contact me cos i would like to be your new friend.
i laughed when i saw 7% earning 100k plus.
Feel free to buy 10% stake in the club.
I have
I remember when the club was slated when it said the average fan earns more than 60k a year.
The survey would actually support this claim don’t you think.
I have recently bumped into a hammers fan here in Poland whose relative reportedly owns part of the club and actively supports the double D’s, saying they are extremely wise businessmen and are doing a good job at the club.
