New WHTID Twitter Feed

Someone in the survey suggested I should start a new West Ham related Twitter feed so you don’t have to put up with the politics stuff from my other one. So, hey presto, it’s done.

If you want to follow it, it’s @iaindalewestham.

Unfortunately someone in America had already nabbed @westhamtillidie but I am going to see if they will let me have it.

It won’t just be me contributing to it. I am going to see if S J Chandos and a couple of others might contribute too.

Doesn't seem to work Iain! I tried to add you but says you don't exist?

  2. use facebook!!! twitter is on the way out.

    • MattRyan says:

Ummmm, sorry to rain on your parade mate but Twitter is most definitely NOT on the way out! Twitter is teh platform of choice for many many people and companies. It's mobile platform makes it vast;y easier to update than Facebook and with Twitter you aren't inundated with stupid requests every second of every day!

      • Stupid requests? You must have the wrong friends, Matt ;)

      • Just had a look for you on FB, Matt, with a view to stalking you, but apart from an American footballer ('athlete') and a visual artist I can't find you. Lucky escape on your part.

        • MattRyan says:

How do you know I'm not a 'visual artist'? Whatever one of those is! lol

And I definitely am an 'athlete' :)

Na, I closed my FB account ages ago due to all the STUPID REQUESTS :)

If I wanted to throw some hot potatos at someone, I'd do it home with my wife :D lol

  3. DevoDevo says:

Excuse me for not joining this technological marvel.

    As for Facebook…….

    • DevoDevo, I can understand your scepticism, and please accept this comment in the helpful spirit as intended … a lot of small businesses find it invaluable. I bet you would shift a few more tee-shirts with a Twitter feed. Just a thought. It's well worth exploring, albeit tentatively.

  4. chrischris says:

parker to get the nod against japan

    • DevoDevo says:

He has to play Chris. Huddlestone and Carrick bring nothing to the table. Carrick has had as many chances as Gerrard yet they still get repeatedly selected.

I hope Capello has Parker down as a definite, like Carragher, otherwise we'll be in trouble in SA.

The team, especially with it's fragile defence, needs a tackling midfielder who can break up play and start forward moves. Outside of Hargreaves, Parker is the only candidate with the ability to perform at that level.

  5. It is extremely exciting to note the link to Everton striker Yakubu today, he would be a top quality striker available at a good price as he is out of favor. This would be the first move the davids would have made to actually silence critics. I have bemoaned the way they have acted in the media and feel they produce lies in order to get fans onside. This would be a great signing and show that they do have a vision for the club. I know he has been suffering with injury but I don’t think it’s a recurring problem.

The other news today was very contradictory with several papers saying that Behrami and Diamanti have been told to find new clubs, with skysports showing an interview from Behrami’s agent saying he is going nowhere. Personally I don’t think Behrami has ad a good season and his decision making in the final third is shocking. He is a right back and if he isn’t played as one I can see him as deadwood. I unfortunately also think diamanti has been played out of position to and unless we keep him as a striker we shouldn’t keep him. The are both also assets who has admirers and it is well documented the davids will sell, we could get good money to invest in players with a hunger and a want to develop under our new manager, whoever he may be.

    • bazzahammer says:

if we sell diamanti then our owners are idiots! what has the guy done wrong except score 7 goals and look sharp every time he plays! rediculus!

as for behrami, i would keep him as long as he could find his best position.

      • with diamanti i am saying that his best position is behind the striker. he isnt quick enough or good enough defensively to play o the wing. He is a great player to have, but he is a luxury. He needs time on the ball and is very hit and miss. As for his 7 goals i think about 4 were from penalties and if we are talking goals alone then is Ilan worthy of a deal. Please dont answer yes to that one he is again not good enough.

  6. Salesh says:

    What is twitter?

    • RoyClark says:

Well, Salesh, as far as I can ascertain it's seems to be some sort of technological system that helps people to be able to keep their heads down looking at their mobile phones and means they can continue to avoid actually speaking to anyone which, apparently, is the future. I may, however, be wrong.

  7. chrischris says:

On Behrami,i think if we can get good money then sell,i agree whilst he's a good ball winner, his not that good in the last third.
His best position is fullback, can't see him getting in front of faubert.

  8. veldom says:

WOW! another article about spector on whufc….he's selected in the US squad!
Now we'll have proof how good our England wingers are. If they do not manage to make him look like a dummy we are surely crap!

    • Salesh says:

Everytime he plays for the USA he actually looks like a decent player. When he plays for us its a different story half the time! But then again playing him at left back isnt going to help the situation.

      • DevoDevo says:

Johnson & Lennon will absolutely crucify him – as will Milner. Can't wait.

        • Salesh says:

Doesnt he play as a Center Back for the states?

          • djclipz says:

usually, when he does actually play he is centre back. But he's not always a starter, and seeing onyewu is back now, he probably won't be first pick. but u never know!

          • His prefer postion is center back. But he is way down the pecking order, thus he plays on the outside. He will not start unless their is injuries. Like the last statement, onyewu is now back from injury, but he looked real shaky against the czechs

  9. Thanks for the Twitter feed, Iain. I'll still keep the political one as well, though.

For anyone who is yet to be convinced, I have a little window that pops up with the latest feed, so it takes a millisecond for me to decide whether I am interested in what's been posted or not.

It's great for catching the news as soon as it happens, and I'm looking forward to hearing the Hammers' latest from Iain's red hot sources way ahead of anyone else.

For example, during the election I heard about the Farage plane crash via one of Iain's Tweets well ahead of anyone else. It was of interest to me because a friend was following Farage's campaign quite closely, so he was amazed when I passed on the news to him.

If the political Tweets are anything to go by, the Hammers' feeds will be worth having.

  10. I know this doesn't relate to the post but just wanted to show my opinion on the current squad, Im sure many wont agree with me.
    442
    green
    behrami, upson, Tomkins, ilunga
    collison, parker, noble, stanislas
    cole, diamanti

Leaves centre back weak, both wings weak and shows the need for a true striker to partner carlton. Everyone not in this team I would consider dead wood and even three of the player in this 11 I consider to not be good enough for the prem.

433- what I think suits all the players better
    green
    behrami, upson, Tomkins, ilunga
    collison, parker, noble
    stanislas, cole, diamanti

I don’t like this formation but it allows players to be in their better positions.
We have major problems but the structure of a team with a spine of green, upson, parker and cole is solid. The players around them need improving and I would say our bench is a miss match of players not up to the task of prem survival. It is worrying to see how bare the team really is if you try and use a 442 and don’t play anyone out of position.

    • Graybo says:

Hi JIrving … I think Collison is sidelined for 9 months or so. I think the personnel will change a lot between now and the end of July. We will have a workmanlike Championship side at best, IMHO.

    • veldom says:

well, the only big no for me is collison on the wing. he is better from the middle. i would prefare faubert or a new winger infront of behrami.
diamanti for me is too slow, but if we had to use him i see his as a striking partner (same as your 442) but he has to raise his work rate and work out an understanding with cole.

      • Ye i would agree, diamanti is one of the three in those formations i would be happy to see go. That is purely down to his work rate and the fact he simply is not a winger, if we cant play him in the right position then cash in on him. I also agree that collison is not a winger but if you replace him with faubert then we have a headless chicken, at least jack has a head on his shoulders. in both formations i have tried to play people in their correct positions, however it is impossible. we dont even have a starting 11 who fit together as they should. I could write a list of players i think we should sell which i know people wont agree with but at the end of the day there is a reason we finished where we did. we have a weak starting 11 and if we get an injury we have a championship side.

    • chrischris says:

err i think you can throw LBM straight in mate.

    • DevoDevo says:

      442

      Green
      Spence da Costa Gabbidon Daprela
      Faubert Parker Noble/Collison LBM
      Cole Hines

      433

      Green
      Faubert
      Da Costa
      Gabbidon
      Daprela

      Noble
      Parker
      Collison/Behrami

      Hines
      Cole
      LBM

      3-5-1-1
      Green
      Da Costa
      Gabbidon
      Upson

      Faubert
      Noble
      Parker
      Collison/Behrami
      Daprela

      Diamanti

      Cole

      • LBM has gone. Gabbidon is not good enough and da costa is a good seccond defender but cannnot carry him. Daprela is a good prospect but is not ready and strong enough for week in week out prem football. your having a laugh with hines starting every game, he just is not good enough yet.

    • Either of those lineups will bring another season of worries. The team needs a playmaker at center mid. We havent had one since Yossi left.

  11. djclipz says:

I see sullivan has come out today and said he would like green to stay. So now that's Parker, Behrami and Green he has said he wouldn't like to leave, least he is slowly making that clear after his infamous every1 is for sale comment!! I would imagine all our youngsters are included with keeping as well as probably cole and im sure mccarthy would be in that considering he hasn't really been on the pitch!!

Anyone know if ilan has been shown the door yet? I know he was only on a possible extension at the end of the season?

  12. veldom says:

i think in the last 2 days the news has been encouraging.
our first lady confirmed again that parker is not for sale
behrami's agent said that he sees his client playig for west ham next season
sullivan said he would like expects green to stay & he also said that he does not expect mre than 2 players coming from portsmouth (hope they selected are selected from o'hara, boateng, belhage or wilson)
cole will not be sold for less than 10 million.
if all this is true, we are holding on to our best players, we can still make money bt selling fringe players, no one will leave us on the cheap, and if we consider that we have stopped payig the salary of players like boa morte etc. we are supposed to saving thousands already.
i still think we need to sell one of our so called stars to raise enough money and bring in 5 new faces. i think its a battle between upson, cole and diamanti.

    • I would say Upson is a good player except for this season, however without signing a contract he needs to go. cash in while we can.
Diamanti should also be sold for reason stated in my previous posts, he is not good enough, he is a luxury player and we cannot play him where he needs to be played. so sell him.
Cole, DO NOT SELL the guy has been poor this season compared to our expectations, however he has had shocking delivery and no strike partner. You are spot on that at least one key player should be sold to reinforce the squad.

  13. celtichammer says:

There may be method to the madness, perhaps we are going to play 4-3-3 with The Yak, Fat Benni and Kung-Fu Panda up front and simply block the pitch forcing the opposition to play the entire game in their own penalty area!
To make sure they dont drift to far towards half way and give the other team more room we can park an ice-cream van behind which ever stand we are playing towards and just switch the siren on!
