The worst thing about us is we genuinely were in the game but it was Scott Parker United on his own that kept us level he was everywhere and everything and deserves a higher platform to perform on the rest played little for the shirt. The 2 Dave,s brought in more crap players in January and in truth they are trying to run their harrods like the 99p store believing Zola can polish every turd, obviously this takes time.If they had done their homework and gone for a bit more quality I am sure they have a network who could have found better players but it takes time to settle so we are hoping Benni can score some goals to keep us up.I have been slaughtering Zola for a long while and surely the 2 Dave,s know when to pull the trigger but in his defence he has never had it easy I think Sir Alex would have stuggled but we all want a quick fix of success sorry boys we do not have enough quality,Fact!
On the BBC soccer debate site fans from other clubs suggest that Zola did a Mick Mccartney and fielded a weakened side at Chelsea, that is the best I have ever heard, someone did not tell Scotty obviously!
Interesting interview with Steve Clarke in the Sunday Times… is he trying to tell us something?
Part 1…
"Clarke served as a youth team coach and then assistant manager at Chelsea for several years, before following former team-mate Gianfranco Zola to Upton Park. Although happy at West Ham for now, Clarke said in an interview with the Sunday Times that his next move must be to step up as a manager in his own right. Clarke said, “It’s the last one to be ticked off, I’ve done all the groundwork. I’ve done everything. I’ve been the player, the youth team coach, the European scout, the assistant manager, first-team coach, I’ve worked with a whole spectrum of players, now it’s time for me to be the guy who makes the decisions and takes the stick. To have done so much to get to this stage and not give it a go would be foolish. I have to try it. I just need somebody to give me the opportunity.
Part 2…
The next step is finding a chairman who’s willing to give me that chance. If you’re asking me, ‘Could I manage a Premier League club?’, I’d have to answer, ‘Yes’. Whether it’s this year, next year, I don’t know. I’ve never been in a position where I’ve had to make a decision on it. I’m still waiting for someone to test my resolve. In my strange little plan, this would be my last job as an assistant and the next one I’d want to be manager. If it works out, great, if it doesn’t then maybe I have to make another detour. I’ve got no problem with people judging me as a manager. When I decide to be a manager, I think I’m going to be a good one.
If ure that good Steve, how about ya get your finger out and sort us out first… then who knows what might happen from there…
Not sure I'd be too happy tonight if I was Zola reading this one…
Any Managerial changes have to happen at the end of the season.
If, as many of us suspect the new owners have their eye on a new Manager, then it must happen then. Doing it now under our current predicament would be so counter productive, it would almost certainly relegate us.
I still think we will just do enough to stay up, mainly because of the poor standard of the premierships bottom half, but if we are fortunate enough to survive, we will need to make some massive changes in staff in pre-season, which may well involve GZ & SC.
One question I have to ask currently is, what has Steve Clarke been doing on the training pitch with our defenders? He once had a reputation for moulding a defensive structure up there with the best.
I appreciate it depends on what you have to work with, but what has he done lately to improve us defensively???
Answers on a postcard please
parker wont play against wolves, his 1 yellow from a 4 match ban.
I think its a two match ban but I agree they should rest him for Arsenal (where he is bound to get booked)
arsenal sorry
Right i am going to put the weekends result behind me and look forward. Chelsea was always going to be tough and most of us didn't really feel we had a chance anyway. Next stop, Arsenal, now most of you are ruling us out but Hull nearly drew with them and only had 10 men in the 2nd half, Arsenal will allow us to play football the way we want to play. Spector must come out of the team immediately. Diamanti, cole and McCarthy must start. Team for me:
Green
Behrami Upson or Tomkins Gabbidon Daprela
Dyer Parker Stanislav
Diamanti
McCarthy Cole
Yes team looks agressive and could become weak at the back so you might want Kovac and a deffensive midfielder but this is the team i use as we all our match winners on the pitch.
Pretty brave Braderz – Personally I think we've nothing to lose and so should go all out for it.
My one concern would be that Parker would tend to play the holding role and, therefore, would be more likely to be carded and banned for games thereafter. That would be a massive blow for us.
Sorry about my tiping, missed a few words in there lol
Interesting development at Hull. Wonder how that will affect their fortunes during the run-in.
