Gudjohnsen Signs for Spurs

Eidur Gudjohnsen has joined Spurs on loan for the rest of the season, according to Sky Sports News. Good. Unreliable sod. I hope he gets splinters in his arse from sitting on the bench, because he sure as hell will struggle to get a game there.

There seems to be a lot of banter about the possibility of us signing Robbie Keane and/or David Bentley from Spurs. Bentley has lost his way at Spurs and I could see Zola reviving his career very well. We are also in desperate need of some wide players. I am less keen on Keane (haha), although on his day, I could see him combining very well with Carlton Cole. But he really does seem to have gone off the boil in recent years. On his day he is a worldbeater and scores some fantastic goals, but his lack of consistent performance has always been an issue. If we could pick him up for £3 million, it would be worth it, but not for much more.

breaking news on sky sports through the associated press that Mutu has failed another drugs test – is this kid serious!?!

Anyone would give their right arm to be a professional footballer and he wants to through it all away for a bit of Charlie

    MUG

I think we were linked with him in some red top rumour section earlier in the month

  2. FishySuffolk says:

Everything is now set to go down to the wire as Dastardly & Muttley juster for position in the wacky races to sign everyone & no one getting the best deal possible!! WHO?? Sorry am unable to tell you until 5pm Monday.

    WATCH This SPACE!Lol!!

  3. Wavid says:

Transfer latest – paint, watch, dry …. yawn!

  4. chrischris says:

Why don't we buy owen ,just been watching a few sky clips of him,god he hasn't lost that much pace, cole would be a good foil.
Surly theres an outside chance of him making Africa.

    • Tony_E says:

Cos even if we can afford him, Alex won't sell him. He'd rather let him sit on the bench all season just in case Rooney gets hurt and never play him than take the risk of being without him. It's the biggest reason that ManU have won so much -squad depth and options with lots of top players on board.

The board would love to sell, but would they argue with Fergie?

    • RoyClark says:

Chris – he HAS lost a lot of his pace and he has no chance of going to South Africa. Yesterday's man.

  5. SkinnyChris says:

Bentley would be a great signing but there's no way Spurs would let him go on the cheap. I think people forget just how good he was at Blackburn. wouldn't be the first to go Spurs and not fulfil his potential!

Played out of place at Spurs. When he was given the chance to play on the right last year he always did well but only to find himself moved to the left when Lennon was fit. Its understandable that he doesn't want to play for them. You can imagine all the things that were said to him when he signed never came true. I think he's a complete prat but he hasn't been given a far crack of the whip at Spurs.

not bothered about missing out on EG. He's well past it….he cant even score in the French league?! I'd be more interested in signing Webber, the guy that scored against us the other night. Surprised Spurs went in for him, he's hardly top four. what surprises me more is that they want him as a replacement to Keane or Pavlo…..Harry's having a laugh right??

  6. chrischris says:

here we go again!!!!!! linked with Beattie now, must admit I like Beattie but he does need legs in and around him,if you can keep him in the box he will score, but we would need a left winger,Any right footer cutting in would take him out the game.

  7. SkinnyChris says:

Keane would be a good move, but he wouldn't sign for us after Spurs and again it wont happen because they would want over the odds.

on another note, Tomkins gets fouled right in front of the ref and seconds later Webber (who hasn't score in 3 years) slots it in!!!! sums up our luck this season……..something you cant buy in the transfer window.

  8. bulldogsob says:

beatti is a poor mans cc

  9. Wavid says:

Keane has had a real bad career recently but with Cole it may just work. Personally I wouldn't fancy him in the team. I am kind of feeling that with limited funds and an urgent need for cover and experience up front and in defense our options in the transfer market will be limited. The summer is where the real planning and buying will happen. For now, we need players to come and do a job – end of. If they have the added incentive of trying to secure a play in the national squad – which ever country, all the better. For now I guess we will have to take from the second of third shelf. Although saying that, McCarthy could prove to be a shrewd buy.

  10. Would just like to say a massive thankyou to bagpuss for signing the albino he`s just what we dont need.

  11. pjdpjd says:

getting a little worried now,im glad gudpension joined the scum cos he was not a player i wanted,no way is he up for a fight,he was happy on the bench at barca, happy on the bench at monaco.and will be happy takin his money on the bench at spurs.what concerns me is the three players we are linked with, beattie, mccarthy and benjhani are all poor to average at best, none better than what we have, they are only back up players whom cant even get into their teams now two of which are pretty poor.i think we are very very hopeful if we think any of these will get the goals we desperately need

  12. Also why are we constantly being linked with with james beattie, what nobody has mentioned on here is that we could sign victor moses for the same money, that boy is going to be a super star. COYI

    • SkinnyChris says:

The problem with Moses is that he is link with very big clubs. I would love it if we could get him but apparently Arsenal, Man Utd and Barcelona are all showing interest.

    • DevoDevo says:

with all due respect, ascrap, I mentioned him earlier in the thread, as I have done for the last few months. Would be a great acquisition for us, despite Sullivan's insistence that we have too many midfielders. There are midfielders and there are midfielders.

      • Yes I saw that Devo, agreed he would be superb on the left for us and allow Colly to move into the centre, his best position by a country mile.
        How about
        Green
        Behrami – Tomkins – Upson – Deprella
        Bentley – Parker – Collison – Moses
        Cole – Hines

      • andyhammer says:

I agree. I would like to sign him – that way collison can join parker in the centre, with behrami wide right – what a midfield that would be.

We could also afford to let a couple of midfielders go in the summer for more money than we bought victor for. I would get rid of dyer, I would even consider how much we could get for diamanit

        • With quasie gone and dyer surely to follow frees up about 100`000 a week in wages, still dont know what to make of the diamond he`s definately a poor mans paolo, at least one of his woefull efforts tuesday hit the twat with the blue wig and trumpet

      • didn`t see that mate, great minds and all that. Also do you not think piquenne or whatever his name is at pompey would be a better signing than either beattie or benjani.

    • andyhammer says:

      Ascrapaskovac.
Here's a little poser for you. If Kovac's form continues to improve, are you going to be the known as 'themanformerlyknownascrapaskovac?"

  13. bulldogsob says:

and we are being link with mido two

  14. HammerRay says:

I'm not really bothered about Eidur. I'm more fed up that Craggy face has displayed his complete lack of morals towards us yet again. I'm not an evil person by any means, but I would love to see him banged to rights in more ways than one following his trial. The only problem is he'd probably enjoy it as whoever did the deed would look far better than his missus….(think Cruella De Ville and you're not far off)!!!
What a low life he is and Gudjonsen has shown what he really thinks of us too. Good riddance. Benni would be better if fit, and a RB. Forget Keane. Very over-rated IMO and I really don't want to be associated with those low-life Spuds.
Make old Arry keep paying their wages and he'll do the same to them as he's done everywhere else. Would love to know what he's paying EG to tempt him away. Make sure you let the board know Arry…I I forgot, you never do that do you !
Why do we always get put through the mill on transfers though and have to wait until the death to realise we'vemissed the deadline etc, etc, or sign a couple of stiffs who are currently playing reserve footy in Spain/ Italy ??? Not fair is it. I know we're usedto it, but a change would be nice!

  15. Braderz says:

I normally have a lot of faith but am giving up with transfers now to be honest, i keep looking to see what is going on and often there is nothing or the same things we have already heard, i actually think we will sign no-one now. I think G&S would have looked at the squad sheet and thaught yes okay we need another striker becuase we only have 2 experieced but now maybe after watching the game vs pompey they thaught that nouble looked very good and that we maybe don't need a striker. McCarthy deal is dragging on now which makes me think it is not going to happen, this deal should be all finalised and benni should be a hammer but he currently still isn't, As for other areas i just don't think we will strenghthen them as we will run out of time, I think we amy get a reserve keepr but that will be it, i hope that i am wrong as i really would like to see Benni join us but i am beginning to doubt that anything will happen, what i am trying to say is don't get your hopes too high like we did in the summer hoping wed sign a striker as we were let down and we were all left fuming. Still we can have hope but musn't get it too high, i will await for confirmation on deals.

  16. Braderz says:

As i am sure everyone already knows Eidur has signed for Spurs and has now been confirmed by the c*** himself old harry redknapp on SSN.

  17. lucokid says:

cavani being linked to us is he any good

  18. Braderz says:

You know what is funny though, is that we needed strikers and harry is going to play him out on the wing until lennon gets back from injury, so he will play a couple games then will be back to the benc, good choice eidur, good choice.

  19. Braderz says:

do you mean cavanaghi or is it a new link? He plays for bordeax up front, that the one?

  20. FishySuffolk says:

still not yet a done deal. He forgot to sign the contract. Lol!

  21. FishySuffolk says:

Any news on Jimi? or is he still doing his vanishing act. Nothing from the WHU website to confirm one way or the other!!

  22. Braderz says:

lol now that would be funny, Tomorrows big news, Eidur ditches Spurs to sign for Portsmouth on loan, it really is a never ending saga with this guy, he has been at so many different clubs in recent years must suggest how poor he has become. I didn't really he want him from the word go.

  23. lucokid says:

just ytube cavani uruguay striker plays for palermo he looks good

  24. Braderz says:

ok il have look, where have you heard that he is linked with us?

  25. FishySuffolk says:

Dindane now gone to Brum in £4m deal & they also want to sign PAV.

Everyone is signing players except us.

Nothing new in the life of West Ham then!!

  26. Braderz says:

This cavani geezer palyed against us if i remember correctly he looks fimiliar and i think he scored against us.

  27. Braderz says:

Yh hes gone to Parma, SSN confirmed it earlier today and should be confirmed on WHU website soon i imagine.

  28. Braderz says:

I just watched the vid and must admit that he does look very good and player we need BUT it is a video and all youtube vids make the players look good + he would take time to settle and we don't have time for the player to settle but he did look good and has scored some very good goals.

  29. FishySuffolk says:

Nicholas Anelka & Joe Cole have not yet signed new contracts perhaps we can get both on loan till end of season & them sign the summer on a free??
Jack Wilshere gone to Bolton on loan!!!

Anyone else we can be linked with?????

  30. lucokid says:

    tribalfootball.com

  31. Braderz says:

I personly think both are overated lol jokes, my word would i love to sign both of them but it just wouldn't happen, i swear transfer activity is happening everywhere ecept with us, same old same old for us hammers fans.

  32. leehammer says:

is it just me or is it really funny to see the spuds turning into portsmouth ….next arry will be nicking that geezer with the stupid hat and tattoos thats at every home game for pompey ……

  33. Tony_E says:

I rather think that the wheeling and dealing gives ol Harry a bit of a rush. I wonder if Mr Levy is starting to show concern and may not allow so much in the summer if the results don't go the right way. Look at some of the players we signed under Harry – some were totally ludicrous but he looked so bloody pleased that he'd got his man that I wonder if that was the sole point of the exercise.

Kinda like my wife buying boots, wearing them isn't the real issue – it's hunting them down and aquiring them!

  34. andyhammer says:

Fishy. Dindane to Brum for £4Million? That's not bad business for Birmingham. I think he is better than Benjani anyhow. Then again I think my dog is better than Benjani and she has a limp since I kicked her up the arse when I found out that Redknapp had been up to his old tricks again. (just joking!!!!)

It's possible that in February if convicted of "alleged" Tax evasion, the only 'Ins and Outs' Redknapp will be concerned with are the ones the residents of HM residence wish to inflict on his clacker.

  35. Does anyone know how long Franco will be out?
Like everyone else on here I am pleased EG is not coming since his heart clearly was never in it given he has supposedly also had previous opportunities to join us. Contrast to Benni who wanted to come before but Porto pulled the plug. Just worried nothing seems to be happening so rumour of medical problem could be correct

  36. andyhammer says:

I'm not sure which one is more depressing- the fat man with the bells or redknapp himself – the comparison is a good one

  37. andyhammer says:

Rumour mongering and scare stories. I wager that the fee has been agreed, the medical is good, and the only stumbling block is him playing this weekend against his old club. Fat Sam will not let that happen

Once the game is finished I'm sure he will be unveiled in all his glory

  38. FishySuffolk says:

Dindane to Brum a little premature, stays on loan at P'mouth
    On SSN tracker

  39. andyhammer says:

..when I say,"in all his glory" I mean in his west ham kit, not draped half naked across the upton park turf with his john thomas blowing in the wind

then again…..our new owners etc and so forth

  40. Personally I'd settle for the return of the hammerettes.

  41. NC_Hammer says:

Was just reading on BBC that we may be in for Celtic's Scott McDonald.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/c/…

Not a bad player, and I like that he needs to prove himself in order to get into the Aussie squad for the WC; motivation shouldn't be a problem. But he's recovering from hernia surgery. Don't we have enough injured strikers already?

  42. _E1 says:

Can we get rid of Nani and bring Venables in I am sure he would be more help to zola and would find players worth having. Just a thought ?
If McCarthey has passed a medical the deal will be done on saturday/ sunday so he can't play against his old club. I still have doubts over his fittness anyway and outof what is being talked about Keane must be a better option, I'd like to see a wide leftsided player come in though, Oh well same ol same ol we will just have to wait and see, I just Hope the double D's don't let us down and turn out to be a pair of Tits.

    COYI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. Roy says:

Duxbury hasn’t got everything right by a long way, but refusing to do business with the Spuds was the right call. Let’s watch and laugh as EG warms their bench and ‘Arry bankrupts them before spending some time in one of HM’s open hotels.
If we get Bennie McC in soon, I’d be happy with that on the striker front. With CC back and Franco back in a few weeks I reckon that will be enough, with Nouble as back-up. If there is a genuine quality striker available on loan then fine but why bring in aged no-bodies that add nothing different with no guarantee of goals?
Although we aren’t playing great, we are certainly better than some of the rubbish in the Premiership and I’m confident we’ll stay up. More urgent is the need for a right back and I’d love to see a flair player like Jack Wilshire come in on loan and come off the bench to create something when we need a goal.

  44. HammerRay says:

We all need cheering up a bit by the sounds of it.
Try this for a laugh…a Millwall fan not seeing the funny side is bound to make you chuckle!!
    http://www.jacarandafm.com/kagiso/action/media/do…

    Enjoy!

  45. Bubbleblower says:

I’m more impressed by the fact that we haven’t sold anyone as opposed to buying some out of shape, wrong side of 30 has been – which just about includes every player we’ve been “linked” with in the last week.
I have no wish to see any of the following in a West Ham shirt ever (even the ones under 30)

    Benjani
    Bentley
    Hutton
    Piquionne
    Beattie
    Prince Boateng
    Shorey
    Wheater

I’d love to see Etherington back, but that’s not happening.
I’d like to see Luke Young. I’d like to see the keeper from Pompey, but that’s not happening.
And can we please replace Jiminez with Di Gennaro from AC Milan?
