Hope all you Noble knockers are happy now.
Jimenez is toilet.
Yes and so is Noble lately!
Diamanti shold have started for both of them!
One of our best players on Wednesday against Villa- I think that he was rested today rather than dropped. Jiminez needs some time to settle, he hasn't played for us much and wasnt playing much for Inter last season either- you can tell he has talent!
Sorry mate, don't agree on either of those statements! I saw teh game on Weds and he was admittedly better than he usually is! But one good game in every 10 does not a good player make!
He just doesn't improve! He has hit a plateau and hasn't come through it at all!
Jiminez is an ok player just not good enough for the EPL!
I'm lost for words! Not Zola finest game, tactically!
I'm worried!
i cant belive it, we play so well but lose, Everton get battered by Benfica twice, we get battered by them,
Blimey, Matt – they couldn't so anymore to win it!
I was pleased that Zola didn't hang about with his substitutions and had to laugh when Neill came on and said to the others "5 at the back". What a way to play football. Horrible, horrible team.
Da Costa – great again. Parker top class, Diamanti has to get a start, Faubert top class today. I'm speechless – don't know how we lost?
We lost devo coz we are short of quality upfront
I agree mate! I'm not blaming the team or Zola! Ok, he SHOULD have started Diamanti, no doubt about that! We're not in a position to be experimenting!
Th ereason I'm worried is because the team are now giving 110% every game and we're losing or drawing most of them!
We need an out and out striker and a decnt center back!
Hopefully Santa will deliver them for us!
Alot of effort and graft in midfield, but we are lacking upfront and are a little short on quality at the back, the table don't lie guys we don't have enough quality to survive this season sorry.
Bad decision to play jimenez over diamanti jimenez is terrible ,where was noble anyone know?
Nobel was apparently "rested".
Diamanti should have started for Jiminez and Noble and should do next game!
I have a feeling this is going to be like Curbs not playing Tevez week after week. To leave your best player (save Parker) on the bench week after week: in this league, you're going to be in a relegation battle!
its always this problem with jiminez, noble..face it, argue with me all you like but west ham are not good enough, diamanti brilliant, hines same, parker same, faubert same, the rest i dnt have a monkeys
Matt,
Noble was superb first half against Sunderland, and IMO our best passer of the ball against Villa.
Why change a winning side?
Jimenez has done nothing in any game and should be packed off back in January
Agreed ollie.
I agree with the Jiminez part but not the Noble part!
I saw the Sunderland game and he wasn't that great ANY of the game! He has one decent game every now and then and everyone loves him for it!
Sorry but I just don't like the guy but tha's only MY opinion
We might as well give up now then as we are already relegated! Jiminez is only going to improve with games, he was far from terrible. How many times can you remember Arsenal struggling to break down teams that stick 11 men behind the ball! If you feel the need to lay blame then Hines was at fault for the loss, missing countless chances BUT he was also the reason for the 3points on Wednesday- that's football unfortunately and we will not be in the relegation zone at Xmas!
But Hines had chances; he just missed them. Jiminez was simply dire every time he got near the ball. You & I were watching different games…
Quite right, as I said Hines missed countless chances. I dont think that Jiminez was dire but needless to say there is plenty of room for improvement (first game back in 5? excluding the cameo against Villa)
B4 the start of the season, i predicted west ham were not gonna do good, look at who they signed, poor players, jiminez and ilunga, i mean what the hell, look at who every1 else bought, better players than us.
I have been staunchly behind Zola all season but am now getting concerned over his selections and tactics. Today we should have stayed with the winning team including Noble. Even if Noble were to be left out then how did Jiminez jump the queue to start ahead of Diamanti? Junior has been ignored since scoring against Fulham, today he is first choice sub to come on?
Then the tactics – i am not sure the team knew what we played in the first half today. Franco and Jiminez both seemed to play in the hole.
GZ deserves longer in the role given his impact last season. However he needs to stop tinkering with personnel and tactics.
well i guess i have to go through a lot of pain 4 two weeks
If we play like that we'll take Hull and Burnley apart, with or without Carlton Cole (if Diamanti starts). Then it will look a bit different. Keep the faith!
Yeah we might take em apart, but will we score?
whens the Irons next game? thanks.
Jimenez time to settle? its almost christmas! how long does he need.
Surely you must realise its about game time not calendar time Chris- his calf injury halted his progress, though as you think we are already in the Championship……..why bother at all
That's a bit harsh mate! Chris is entitled to his views as are we all!
I personally don't think we are relegated yet!
I am worried that we are giving our all and getting hardly any wins week-in, week-out! I will settle for 17th mate! But I am worried that if that happens, we will lose our best players and no one will want to buy us!
Then we will go through all this again, next year!
Apologies if it sounded harsh, it was supposed to be tinged with frustration rather than anything else.
If we end up in the championship then so be it.I'll be choked yes but will carry on supporting my team back to the prem, eddie it's not a case of not bothering it's an honest accesment of our teams chances of surviving, although we played well and created many chances I dont think we have enough quality for the prem plus our squads way to small.
when we went down with carrick defoe cole etc I was real choked because we had such a good team, this time it wouldn't bother me.
The silly thing is we are 1 quality striker plus 1 good fullback and center half from safety and maybe top 10,that's how thin the line is between success and failure in the prem, not having this quality leaves us with indifferent results each week.
Oh no apologies needed at all mate! We are all a bit frustratded today I think!
I know I am! Frustrated and Annoyed!
Oh well!
i just dont get it, west ham have the best fans in England but not a good side, i wish we were good as chelsea, but obviously allow them
Why was collison subbed?
we are going to get battered by liverpool away, totscums away, chelsea both, man u both, everton away, arsenal away, i can already see defeats
i agree chris, why was he subbed
[...] Rubbish Jiminez = Good Noble By West Ham Till After I Die Ollie66 says: [...]
I think we learned today that we cannot expect someone of Zavin Hines' limited experience to get us out of trouble.
The pressure clearly got to him today, which is to be expected considering his cv so far.
Parker and Franco were our best two players although daCosta, plus the energy of Diamanti when he came on, were both excellent.
If our team is ever to get a result and everyone on here thinks Da Costa is good why are we letting in 2 goals most games bring back the defence that was our strenght hindsight greedy lucash and ginge are obviously defenders where at the moment we go down 1-0 the confidence is drained and we are not a side at the moment that could comeback and score any.Alan wiley that so called ref should have listened to Fergie he is hopeless.
Why pay 6 million for Diamante and bench him?he does not need to “settle in” he is very exciting ,the mystery of management by Gianfranco Zola Savio could not settle 9 million, weird thinking man you are baffling us fans for sure considering we sold ginge our pivot our rock and we have no money?Do you honestly know what your doing?
Disappointed that the crowd gave Lucas Neil so much stick today.
An indifferent, luke-warm clap would have been more of a statement that the booing and chanting.
I wasn't happy that he didn't re-new his contract but fully understood why. He was perfectly entitled to look for a longer deal at his age.
To boo a guy who captained us didn't show too much style, IMO. I don't think he derserved the treatment usually reserved for the likes of Ince, Reo-Coker and Defoe.
Interestingly, I polled people on this site last week to test the water regarding Neil. Not one person agreed that he should get a hostile welcome back.
Just shows what we know.
sorry to change the subject guys, i know every1s frustrated, but can you tell me when is west hams next game plz, thanks a lot.
the Irons are apparently gonna bid for marauone chamahk, maybe hel make the difference. im not saying it will but he is a quality player.
On another point of order has anyone see the story about Nigel Quashie being frozen out from training and getting £20 grand a week __I know he has been out on loan and went to Poland with reserves for that friendly __10 days ago__But have we got money to burn when he is an adequate midfielder and could possibly do a job for us. On todays result any alternative is worth a punt????
Agreed Horters, although the treatment of Neil was entirely predictable. There do not appear to be any grey areas with so many WH fans any more. Players are either God's gift or complete crap.
Ex-players are either legends and heroes or traitors and scum.
Neil always put in a good shift when he played for us and was a decent captain. Thought the booing and chants of One Greedy Bar Steward were unfair and lacked class.
The chanting was possibly lacking in class, but on the flip side a huge number of fans felt hugely let down by our so-called captain leaving and one cannot deny that he is a player driven by greed!
I'm very disappointed by that. We played them off the park.
I don't even remember Everton having two chances or Green making a save. After the three recent comebacks with Fulham, Arsenal & Villa it was all too much to hope for.
It just adds extra pressure on the next two supposedly winnable games.
On the bright side, the performance bodes well for if and when we stop making it impossible for ourselves.
Thank god for the international break, hopefully we might have Cole back for our next match.
jenas and huddlestone and no Parker, you got to laugh!
After today, which Capello obviously didn't see, I find it offensive that two Spurs players not even rated by Spurs supporters should be included before him.
Having seen Cahill & Lescott's efforts yesterday, I would suggest that Upson is nailed on to be Terry's partner in the absence of Rio. Suddenly, we seem bereft of decent centre backs.
Its worrying they we can play so well and still lose. Everton were rubbish – 3 shots at goal and 2 goals. Parker was oustanding again and I was impressed by Da Costa. Apart from Jimenez everone played quite well and Hines could have had a hat trick. Thought Junior looked lively.
Unsure why a couple of posts calling for a new CB – to replace who? Not Da Costa on strength of last two performances. I thought Specs, although obviously not a natural LB, did well today. We are so lacking in width – despite midfield quartet none are natural wide players and so it was good to see that addressed second half by Junior who always poses a threat. Franco played well and it was great to see him offer encouragement to Hines after he had missed a real chance on goal. We could have had six second half – just a pity we took so long to get going.
IF WE ARE PLAYING TEAMS OFF THE PARK AND LOSING WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DONT PLAY WELL?
A few hours have past, my hangover has cleared and I still feel sick as a parrot. Certain things in life defy explanation and todays match was one of them. The easy thing to point to is the fact that Cole was missing and I doubt anyone would argue with that. Its impossible not to think that with Cole fit and on form we would have handed out a tonking today.
Everton came to park the bus today and they did it very well. We pressed and pressed but faced with a wall of blue we looked for one more pass, players in shooting positions opted to pass, it was a case of a flamboyant Italian versus a canny Jock and it was the jock who won.
We had enough chances to win the game but we didnt convert them.
For me Upson should have done better for both of their goals. He was completely outplayed by DaCosta today. If Diamanti hadnt joined DaCosta would be looking like the buy of the season. With regard to Diamanti he simply has to start from now on. He completely unsettled their defence and was the reason they had to send Neil on to try and reorganise them and prevent the equalising goal.
Franco played too deep today, its obvious he is used to playing as a supporting striker and didnt work Yobo and Dystin hardenough to make room for Hines who although a young guy still learning his trade was a little wasteful in dangerous positions. Stan looked more effective when he came on as he has the self confidence to back himself.
There were 3 WestHam captains on display today, there was last seasons captain playing for everton, there was Upson playing for us and there was Scott Parker who should be man with the armband. His display today could have been recorded and shown to kids on what makes an outstanding midfield leader. He drove the team forward and put in a near super human effort. As for Upson he was useless as a leader and distinctly average as a defender. He made no attempt to block Saha's shot and in fact pulled out of the way and he didnt react when Green parried the ball for the second goal.
All in all he should be sold in January, actually he should have been sold in July so we could have kept Ginge and given Scotty the armband. Behrami was back to his best today and Faubert is over his little dip in form. Spector had a very solid game but was lucky not to be facing an out and out wide man so wasnt under that much pressure, that said he could have done better on the second goal.
Last word for Diamanti, the guy is a special special player. To anyone who moaned about us paying £6M for a "second" division no name Italian player I hope you kept your words soft and sweet because you are going to have to eat them.
I am gutted we lost today but hugely encouraged by some of the performances and football we showed today!
I agree 100% with your last paragraph, CH. Diamanti's vision was sublime, but he does have to cut out the glory shots from 30 yards when we have 4 players in the box waiting for a delivery.
Devo I was just happy to see someone having a shot!
So Celtic my major concern is Zola,Diamante record signing on the bench does Zola know what he is doing? I feel after every game he is a nice little man but it takes Stevie Clarke to come out and defend Ilunga why?
Personally now I am thinking we will play great football with no result and plenty of lame duck excuses.
We need to start getting results because this season is already survival and a write off.
Zola will be a great coach but he gives me the distinct impression it is killing him slowly to manage .
Faubert and Phil Spector are not defenders ginge and lucash were so every game will see us concede because these players at best have pulses but not the defence as for Upson and Green no world cup win next year if their form is so poor.
A massive overhaul of West Ham is needed because our season is over but when you are controlled by a bankrupt bank what do you get?CHAOS!
im sorry, but for me we did not deserve to lose this game. i no some people say dont blame it on the referee, but for bejesus sake! cahill should have been sent off after he pushed behrami down for evertons second goal! and the fact the ref was right in front of him was even worse! could not have been prouder of the hammers after the way we are fighting for results!
oh and please, for all the bloggers on here who are slating zola for not starting noble make me laugh! you could not breath for comments on here ained at dropping noble on his previous games, yes the guy played well in the week, but thats was one game. i think jimenez is a bit unlucky, the guy has only just came to england, has a few bad games but we expect him to become paulo di canio with first few touches! give the guy a break!
at the end of the day…we were unlucky today, if cole had been playing there is no doubt in my mind we have Won that game.!
15th at xmas!
coyi!!!
We need 6 from the next 2. And it's clearly time for Zola to take a stand and make Parker captain. He has cut down on the whining at the refs, and is the only leader we have. (Save for what Franco did with Hines.)
yes true. but i think zola is just too nice. but yes, parker is ideal for captain. he is personally my favourite player. but in all fairness, we were unlucky today!
coyi!!!
ye matt your right, thanks for accepting my apology, just wasnt our day m8.
I agree with most of Matt’s posts. Diamanti needs to start. In defense of jiminez, he played a thru ball in the 4th minute to Hines who went into the box with no idea what to do and lost possesion. I counted at least five times in the first 10 minutes he was in scoring postion with nothing to show. I did not see the villa match, so I can’t comment on nobles play, but he hasn’t progressed the last year. Collison looks explosive when he possess the ball
