West Ham: Best Tacklers in the League!

I think it was in the Mail that I read this, but did you know that West Ham have put in more tackles than any other side this season, and had a higher successful per centage that any other team? No, me neither. On the face of it, it’s an impressive statistic. Unless you consider we have to put in so many tackles because we lose possession too easily!

Glass half full, or half empty?!

I am not surprised by these stats.

Berhami, Parker & JC are probably 3 of the hardest working midfielders in the whole of the premiership. If only Noble had that sort of engine!

Did anyone see the interview after the Villa game on the Sky highlights programme, Nobes was interviewed after the game and looked like he had a double chin. Nobes please lay off the pie & mash because that diet will lead you straight into League1. His game has stayed reasonably static whilst those around him are improving with every season under the new dynamic duo.

Notably, the work rate and technical improvement of CC is phenomenal compared to 18 months ago. All the extra effort we see on the pitch comes solely from the hard work done on the training ground with SC & GZ.

May the partnership with these very talented coaches and management duo be a long one as under these guys I feel that the good times will be back within 2-3 seasons.

Nope – Definitely half full. I'd far rather it was this way round than us being a soft touch and not winning back possession when we lose it.

Collison was rightly praised by the Sky pundits today. I think we have a real star on our hands and everything should be done to keep him at our club, because the vultures will be sniffing round in January.

The stat surprises me, but we have tended to sit back and let teams come on to us, so it kind of makes sense.

The BBC are saying we have won almost 80% of our tackles. . .impressive especially as we seem to be going for the standing tackle, even Herita is trying to stand up and aviod his love of the feeling of grass on his knees!

Nobes has not had a great start to the season but he was back to his best against Villa. I just wish people would stop having a pop at him and start getting behind him. He is one of our own! On form he is a great player!

  8. AussieGraham says:

The people who come on here and knock the players week in week out should sincerely go and follow a team who have robots in every position or 30 mill a pop to constantly buy the ideal player a la Galactico,s to replace the poorer performers.Zola is gradually getting things right on the most limited budget and if any person who has financial backing that comes on here and slaughters the players put your money where their mouths are and buy the club and then see how easy it wont be.
Citeh cannot get it right and we do not perform that badly Nobes played ok against villa Carlton has improved so patience is the key.

If nothing else it shows that there is good team spirit and the players wanting to do their best. It would be easy for a non committed player to shirk tackles so well done to the Hammers players.
