Kovac 4,no way! 1 for plodding around infront of his centerbacks.
Noble should of been 6,I thought he had a decent first half, papers had him 7/10!

  2. Oddjob says:

Overall that was much as I saw it although I'm not sure Hines contributed enough to be ahead of Noble who, I agree with Chris, had a decent first half. There does seem to be a downer on him at the moment. Shaded of Celtic's past life as a Carlton Cole-knocker.

  3. Oddjob says:

    Sorry, should have been "shades".

  4. J.P says:

Agree that Noble should have been higher, he was not fantastic but it was his best performance for a while. Massive game tomorrow night, if we can get 3 points it will be a big boost for the whole team.

Also been reading reports of a bid for Kim Kallstrom in January. I have only heard good things about this guy, has a great left foot apparently. does anyone actually know much about him??

  5. FISHY says:

Celtic, Matt, SJ and whover else.Transfered this from the previous thread. Please accept my apologies if I have upset anyone with the latest post on the financial state of the club (from probably a disillusioned fan). I am a WH fan through & through. My grandfather was a supporter when they were still the Thames Ironworks & went to the White horse FA cup final at Wembley.
However these stories about financial crisis & administration etc have NO foundation. As Celtic has said if we were in such a position the PL would taking more of a role, as they are at Portsmouth with Transfer embargos etc. I realise that we have not got anything like that on our plate at present (thankfully) & with CB refinancing the loans so as to put investment into the club with Rothschild/Standard bank looking into new investment for the club I know that the future looks bright & will come sooner rather than later.

The main concern is on the pitch and hopefully we are able to put things right in that area & get a few points on the table over the next few games to push us up the league from our current false position.

Until the next post. Watch this Space!Lol!

Fishy there is absolutely no need to apologise to me for anything you have posted.
It was just a cumlative effect of having to explain again and again why we are not on the brink of collapse which can get tiresome when you lay out your case and pepole would still rather go with the "my mate knows a guy who knows a guy" story that research the facts for themselves.
Just once it would be nice if these people actually backed up their claims.
Like I said though you owe me no apology what so ever mate.

      • FISHY says:

Thanks Celtic, I know that you always try and offer an unbiased view and show it on what we hope is something that others on here are able to understand. We just hope that WH are able to publish this years accounts before too long and that the CB/S along with Rothschild/Standard can bring about the long awaited investment the club needs.

    • MattRyan says:

Nothing to aplogose for with me mate! Just had some issues with something else that was said! But all good with you mate! :)

    • SJChandos says:

Fishy, you have nothing to apologise for in the first place. However, its to your great credit that you have the integrity and honesty to post an apology for any offence that you feel your previous post might have caused.

One point though, I think the point about the PL involvement was originally mine, not Celtic’s! Still no sweat, and I agree with you fully that the important thing is 6 points against Villa and Everton to help push us up the PL.

  6. Stephen says:

Tomorrows game is massive for us, we will certainly have to play with the highest concentration to ensure we can get the points. There is always to much negativity surrounding our club and false media reports regarding players coming or going or takeovers may or may not be happening. I for one just want us to get some points in the bag secure a more comfy league position and focus on the positives which believe it or not there are quite a few.

  7. FISHY says:

Aussie if your logging in later
    What a SHOCKING result!!!!
    Lol!

  8. FISHY says:

With a number of injuries and suspensions for Villa tomorrow nights game is sounding good on paper at least. we just hope that the team GZ puts out is up to
finishing off what they started and not letting the second half scenario get the better of them. 2-1

  9. celtichammer says:

The reserves play fulham tonight, I suppose we will be limited to tect updates on the official site but hopefull it means a step closer to challenging for a first team place for Terry Dixon.
I was impressed with how he tucked away his goal in the recent trip to Poland and the lad deserves a hell of a lot of credit for battling back from a career ending injury. If only a certain pie eating striker would take note!

    • FISHY says:

If they are able to build on their Poland match and with Edgar & Eyjolffson back from their loan spells we hope that they along with Dixon and others can put one over Fulham and whatever the result tonight will rub off on & influence the first team.

  10. celtichammer says:

Fishy the first team should be sent to watch the under 16s who thrashed arsenal 7-3 at the weekend and blitzed pompey 8-2 the weekend before. No need to worry about defending when you're banging in 15 goals in your last 2 games!

  11. MattRyan says:

Alan Curbishley has won his claim of wrongful dismissal against former employees West Ham United.

The former manager resigned at the beginning of the 2008-09 season after the club sold Anton Ferdinand and subsequently George McCartney to Sunderland against his wishes.

The Managers’ Arbitration Tribunal of the FA Premier League today unanimously upheld Curbishley’s claim that he had the right to sole authority in relation to the sale and purchase of players, and found that the conduct of the club amounted to a fundamental breach of contract, therefore entitling the manager's resignation.

Curbishley commented afterwards: “I am obviously delighted with this result. I very much enjoyed my time at West Ham and never wanted to leave, but on joining the Club I insisted that my contract contained a clause confirming that I would have final say on the selection of players to be transferred to and from the Club.

"The Club completely ignored my contract when selling Anton Ferdinand, and when George McCartney was then sold, the Club having given me assurances that no players would be leaving the Club after the sale of Anton Ferdinand, I had no alternative but to resign.

"My authority and integrity were undermined and my position was made untenable. I now wish to put this entire matter behind me.”.

Chief Executive of the League Managers Association, Richard Bevan, commented “Naturally we are delighted with the outcome for Alan but, at the same time, sorry that he wasn’t able to continue at West Ham United, a club that has played such a prominent part in his professional career both as a player and manager.

"The findings of the Tribunal demonstrate the critical importance of respecting contracts which need to set out the roles and responsibilities of the parties in clear and unequivocal terms”.

The Tribunal also dismissed West Ham's counterclaim relating to the cost of employing Gianfranco Zola and his assistant, Steve Clarke. Compensation will now be assessed.

    There goes another tosser!

I have just read that the premier league has found in favour of curbs in his action against the club. This is completely baffling to me. It now seems that absolutely anyone can take a case against our club and be sure of winning no matter how tenuous the grounds are. It is not enough that the press can realease story after story rubbishing the club with no need for facts or the truth to stand in the way safe in the knowledge that they can shred our reputation with impunity. Now anyone with claims direct on speed dial can be assured of a settlement when they sue us. Enough is enough, we are now seen as a soft touch both on and off the field. I have always felt that Dux has done his best in difficult circumstnace but he has to stand up now and defend the club before it dies the death of a thousand cuts. Curbs was a bad manager who blew almost £50M on players as well as giving them infalted salaries so they could sit on the treatment table for the majority of his tenure. Kieron Dyer has cost the club around £1M per appearance in transfer and salary fees. The two players he claims were sold without his premission have become fringe players at best at their new club and the £14M brought in from their sale looks like an outstanding bit of business. Its time to take the gloves off and stop this rot before it destroys our club. Dux either fight fire with fire or step aside and let someone who has the backbone for this the chance to defend WestHam. We have become a pantomime villian of a football club despite being innocent of all charges brought against us in the press and in a series of kangaroo court style tribunals. Its no wonder the players cant gain confidence in the face of a relentless campaign aimed at bringing about the downfall of the club by any and all means. I have read the judgement and can not believe it would stand up to legal scutiny on appeal.
What we need is someone with the balls to take this fight on before it is too late.

  13. Sirgeoff says:

I see Curbs has won his case against West Ham, the amount to be decided.
Shouldn't we just register as a charity. I assume Sheffield Utd. will be after money again as they have lost a few games, Everyone seems to want us to be relegated or go into administration. This will only make us stronger. So, sod off the lot of you. COME ON YOU IRONS

  14. Tuckshop says:

Celtic, it is clear from the official statements that WHU were in breach of their contract with Curbs. He had a contract that specifically stated that he said who left the club and having let the Anton incident go, he got assurances that it wouldn't happen again. So they promptly sold George. You general commnet is correct, it does seem anybody and his dog can sue WHU, but Curbs has a genuine case IMHO.

  15. Roker Roar says:

West Ham should be ashamed-their attempts to have Sunderland players sent off were unsporting Jones deserved to be sent off but for the West Ham player to pretend to have been hit in the face(WH trainer even dabbed his face -pathetic)was very bad.WH manager should instil in his players the sporting way he played. Not the way we expected a team like West Ham to play!

    • Tuckshop says:

Roker – agree with you that its not what I expect from WHU players to feign injury. On the other hand it is what we expect from a Steve Bruce team to push people in the face, make two footed career threatening lunges like Canac, simulate fouls as Malbranque did, and scream like a little girl as Bent did to get Kovac sent off. Now go to a Sunderland site

    • claret blue forever says:

Yes I was ashamed, hope I never see anything like that again

  16. Hammer66 says:

Tuckshop I think I love you – COYI

  17. Daveip1966 says:

Aye, tuckshop, not to mention the fact that said player suffered a serious facial injury at the start of the season so it’s entirely possible that it’s still all a bit tender, especially when a lump like Jones shoves hit mitt in his face

  18. Ollie says:

How in God's name can Franco, Tomkins, Diamanti and Hines be rated above Noble?

I was at the game with another Hammer and three Mackems.

Two of the Mackems thought Noble's passing ripped them to pieces in the first half, and I agree.

Kovac, Spector and Ilunga were shocking, Diamanti was v poor and I wasn't impressed with Franco either.

Too many sheep voting on this site.

If Noble has a blinder tomorrow, he'll still be marked below Colly, Parker and Behrami.

    • Rob says:

yeah, i'm with you about noble but i thought franco did just what we signed him to do. messed around up front, was kind of a nuisance, and scored a goal. can't complain about that

  19. E-1 says:

I went to the game and from what I saw Cole,Collison and berhami were the pick of the crop , Kovac was Poo as for the rest all pretty much the same as each other over the 90 mins. noble had a good 20 25 mins but that was about it, I still would'nt be starting with him at the moment. Stanislas with Parker Berahmi and Collison would be my starting mid field. Although against villa I would think about dropping Berahmi to RB with Stanislas in front of him and bring Diamanti in on the left Hines and Cole up front.

  20. mustaqim says:
