SJ: 3.32 Agreed much better for us both to have our say in a reasonable manner and not get into a LONG drawn out slagging match like some I could mention lol.
Anyway moving on LBM says he wants to stay for the remainder of his contract (1yr) and the return to portugal so we wont be getting any money for him.
Newsnow are saying we are looking to pay 8 Mill for Felipe Caicedo from Citeh? what happened to sturidge has he decided to make the same mistake as many before him and go to Chelski?
I must admit 1/2 of me quite likes being linked with all these players but the other 1/2 just wants to see one or two come off and quick !!

  2. E1 says:

Hey Eddie he sounds just what we need another liabilty lol.
IF what they say about him is true then why do we want ANOTHER striker watching from the Stands, he’s had nearly as many red cards as his scored goals I am sorry to say.
But I really can’t see zola intoducing someone like this who could disrupt the squad, I hope not anyway.

  3. Upton Spark says:

I really do hope I’m wrong, but I have a feeling that we will only get 4 points from our first 6 games of the new season.
Wolves Away 1 point (will be hard but should get a point)
Aston Villa Postponed due to Europe
Tottenham Home 1 Point(Another hard game)
Blackburn Away 1 Point(Usually do well here so i could be wrong)

    Then if you look at our next 3 games we will do well to get anything from those games;
Wigan Away 1 Point(This could be our first win but I’ll take a point)
Liverpool Home No Points(Alway’s a hard game)
Man City Away No Points(Bad record at City)
I could be wrong here, but it’s just a feeling I’m getting.Obviously, everyone will now dissagree with me and that’s fine as I really do want to be wrong.BUT WHAT IF I’M RIGHT??

  4. E1 says:

Upton spark If you a right Nobody on here will ever talk to again and you will be banished the the whitest parts of North London lol

  5. E1 says:

and made to wear a gooners shirt

  6. GothenburgHammer says:

    upton spark…u r drunk!

  7. Upton Spark says:

Please please don’t get me wrong. I love West Ham.I love Zola, but you sometimes get a feeling for a thing and I just feel that we are so desperate to do well that it could blow up in our faces.
The GOOD thing is; We have Zola and Clark in there to sort our problems out. They will know what to do if it does go pear shaped so I am not that worried about a dodgy start. We WILL get over it and I think that we will all rally together and lift us to a safe position.
With a bit of luck we could sneak in the backdoor of europe, but that is only if everything goes well.I don’t really mind a slow start as we usually pick things up when we need to so all will not be lost. Let’s remember we have a good set of youngsters who will fight to the end so I can see us finishing well at the finish. Now then, where’s my Bacardi and Coke.

  8. E1 says:

Uptonspark Nice to see you have changed your mind, I knew the Gooners shirt would do the trick lol.
We should be looking for at least 8 maybe 10 points from those 6 games.
Wolves physical but 1 we can and should win
Spurs not much to fear and if we have a fully fit 1st 11 a very entertaining win
    Blackburn win/draw
    Wigan a win/draw
liverpool loose but might nick a draw.
    Man citeh win/draw.
Looking at it, it is only the liverpool game that I would expect to get nothing from the others IMO are all winable or at least worth a point.
    COYI !!!!!!!!!

Have been away for a bit SJ Chandos but I’ve just read your first comment on this post. Couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve said it before but one of the things that gets my goat the most is impatience in fans. I really can’t understand all of the supporters that expect players to come straight in to the first team and adapt within 60 seconds of being on the pitch wearing the famous Claret and Blue then play faultlessly for their entire career thereafter. Under those circumstances I reckon some would still have a pop at the first minute’s performance. To those fans I urge some sense of reality in their expectation. Get real – it takes some time to settle in.

I’ve seen some comments recently about the Inter Milan Trio joining us and what an overnight Utopian Upton Park we’d have. Get real folks – Balotelli, Mancini and Fanni would take half a season at least to acclimatise. Patience Please – it takes time to adapt to the English game.

  10. Goatygav says:

Gotta admire LBM. He’s a tough competitor for sure. http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009/06/19/1335374/luis-boa-morte-wants-to-fight-for-west-ham-place .

I hope he regains his “Fulham Form” for us and starts to get eye for goal.

  11. Goatygav says:

    Right – rant over.

I’m off to the London Masters at Wembley Arena tomorrow night with the wife & kids. Lookin’ forward to a great evening – haven’t been to one of these before but I reckon it’ll be a good night.

    COYOI!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Dujon says:

Signing Balotelli, Jimenez and Mancini would be pure magic for me. If our defence kept tight then i don’t see why we couldn’t beat any team in the EPL with that line-up.

  13. Brooking still the best says:

If, and it is a big if, we sign Balotelli, Jimenez and Mancini. what a forward line up we would have. Add the likes of a fit Ashton and Dyer, we will have some real options going forward for a change.

  14. hammerjames says:

got to say i think our line up will be as follows

    green

    behrami tomkins upson ilunga

    nobles parker

    jimenez mancine

    cole/ashton (if fit)

bench colly, savio ,collins, dyer (gk) lbm stan

and mayb ballio will get in somehwere 2

  15. Eddie Chappers says:

Though it would be an obvious risk signing Super Mario, I think out of all the foreign players we have been linked with he would adjust very quickly to the Prem- he has all the right attributes- bags of pace and strength plus a great eye for goal, I think the boy just needs some ‘Zola love’ a la Carlton Cole!

  16. Dujon says:

Balotelli is a proven striker though even at such a young age. Cole on the other hand transformed from an under-performing to a very consistent and able striker under Zola and Clarke.

It seems like Mancini isn’t joining hammers. I still believe that with the likes of Dyer, Stan, Savio and LBM that we have enough wingers.

I like James’ line-up i must say. I believe Balotelli could be a goal scoring machine at West Ham and I’m sure he’d like working under Zola/Clarke if he’s given game time. It would be remarkable if he came.

  17. richo says:

What’s the word on Terry Dixon is he ready for pre season?

  18. chris says:

Balotelli no thanks! so the Mancini thing was total crap, shame hes class.

  19. chris says:

    Mancini, we are dreaming!

  20. Goatygav says:

8 Goals in 11 appearances in Serie A last year Chris. He’s strong, very quick and has a great eye for goal. Can’t tsee why you wouldn’t want him.

  21. clack says:

I belive the Villa game’s off, isn’t it?

    (due to Europa league games)

  22. Basildon Bob says:

Gutted, lost in the Masters final on penalties to QPR

  23. E1 says:

Hammer james: can’t believe you would drop collison and put ashton in ? ave you been down the pub lol

  24. E1 says:

And you only got 10 players or are looking at playing cole and ashton rather than cole/ ashton if fit ???

  25. Hammerjames says:

Yet sorry e1 didn’t make that clear it would be cole and Ashton together. Don’t get me wrong I love collison think he is bril technique is unbelievable but there would be some tough competition for places and from what I’ve seen although unreliable is excellent of the inter lads and IMO he would not start if all fit. However ashton 2 be fit is like my nan wakeing from the dead so I would then to a 5 man mid with cole on his own and colly dropping in mid and ashton med room u got to admit it gives u the best selection headache in ages coyi

  26. SoCalHammer says:

Balotelli would be a good signing for us. Strong, pace, eye for goal. A bit of an attitude problem, but we just had that in Bellers and we wanted him out there every chance. And who better to guide the lad than GZ? I just don’t see Ashton being fully ready in August. We need someone along side Cole. It is still very early in the transfer market as well. If I recall, we didn’t hear about Ilunga until he was signed.

  27. chris says:

Balotelli not proven in the prem,to much of a gamble for me,if we are in for another centre forward type player, would rather go for K Davis.

  28. Roymondo says:

Kevin Davis would give us three big forwards while, although they have differences, have similarities too. Surely we need a speedy striker to play off of Cole or Ashton. Davis does an excellent job for Bolton but he suits the way they play which is a million miles from the Zola way who I wouldn’t think fancies him one bit.

  29. E1 says:

Chris : with respect any new player has an element of risk and indeed some existing ie ashton, savio, dyer thats were the manager comes in and thats why zola wants to asess the squad pre-season zola knows Bolotelli he will know best. His attitude problem IF it is ALL true may cause a problem but as far as being good enough on the pitch his goal/game ratio speaks for it’s self.
As for Davies Roymondo, spot on mate we don’t need his type of player unless someone leaves.

  30. E1 says:

This is a very interesting site You will need a bit of time to read it all
    http://westhampals.blogspot.com/

  31. chris says:

Sorry dont agree….I’m in the view Ashton wont make it so that leaves us with just cole to hold up the ball,If he gets injured there’s no one.
Roymondo….No Davis would favour zola’s system,I think he will play 4 5 1 next season 2 wide attacking players(hope its mancini) one centre forward to hold the ball and get on the end of things.

  32. E1 says:

Chris 4-3-3 is more likley IF we get Jiminez and mancini they will be able to come in and around the box as well as going wide. Sturridge would be a better option than Davies IMO.

    ************** NEW SHIRT *******************
How many dad’s got one this morning lol
    ********************************************

  33. Roymondo says:

I didn’t get a shirt but, there again, I didn’t expect one. I did get a coffee mug from my 8-week old grandson with his footprints on it and they were in West Ham blue. So I’m happy enough.

  34. chris says:

    E1 4 4 3 is sought of the same as 4 5 1 all depends where the wide people are positioned,so yes I think we will play 4 3 3,and 4 5 1 in the same game.

  35. chris says:

    team… cole
    jimenez collison parker noble stanislas/dyer/
    ilunga upson tomkins behrami

  36. Rob says:

never liked 4-3-3, especially when we will have the likes of cole/ashton/dixon/dyer to play up front as well as anyone we may yet buy. chris i to think 4-3-3 is just basically 4-5-1 without the correct players to use.

i don’t think we have the right players for it, however then again if we sign a few wingers it may work.

we will have a very competitive midfield next year which is great:

Parker/Colly/Noble/Dyer/Stanislas/LBM/Jimenez/Behrami + any new signings + new youth players next year

this could be a very good year to be a hammer!

  37. Upton Spark says:

Didn’t want a new shirt so I got,Steve Gerrard autobiography(a holiday reading book).Last year I read on hols John Lyall autobio for the second time which I recommend if you havn’t read it,and I also got a Ray Davies cd (formerly of The Kinks)and just listened to it. Rate this 7/10
With regards the new shirt,am I the only one who doesn’t like us in navy blue?? I think we should play in white with claret and blue sides or something simular when we are away.
    Just a thought.

  38. Goatygav says:

It was pretty disappointing, Basildon Bob, to lose on penners. I think QPR would admit that we outplayed them but didn’t get the goals we deserved in the final.

My boys really enjoyed themselves. Even the Missus had a giggle with a Tottenham fan sat next to us who did quite an amusing “Belly’s gonna get ya” in to the camera when it filmed us.

Trevor Sinclair was definitely the outstanding player of the tourny. Shame our boys couldn’t even make the keeper work for 3 out of the 5 spot kicks.
