Season Ticket Prices To Be Cut
March 27th, 2009 - 12:09 pmThe club have announced on the official site that season ticket prices next season will be cut by 8%, in recognition of the cut in VAT and the worsening economic conditions. They have further said that for season ticket holders who have held tickets for 5 years, there will be a 20% cut in 2012-13.
It has been noticeable that crowds have been quite low in several games this season. This move recognises that many supporters’ own financial circumstances are likely to become very difficult over the next two years. I suspect individual ticket prices will also plummet.
Whatever the financial consequences of this, the club have bought themselves a lot of goodwill today.
Kovac Lashes out at Bellamy
March 26th, 2009 - 9:50 amThis from Sky Sports…
“Kovac also stated that the club is in a better place without striker Craig Bellamy who left for Manchester City in January. The midfielder never played with the Welshman for the Hammers and states that he is only going off what his team-mates have told him.
“They are glad he is not in the team. They say he is a maniac,” he explained.
“He shouted at everyone who did not pass the ball to him in training, it was crazy. His departure has been a positive thing for the players.”
Well I never.
James Collins Must Not Play
March 25th, 2009 - 10:01 amJames Collins has been out for nearly a month, yet he intends to play in Wales’s World Cup qualifier against Holland on Saturday. OK, I am not a medic, but I cannot think he can be fit to play in an international. Too often, our Welsh based players have played in internationals before they have returned to fitness, and this has delayed their comeback for West Ham.
In other news, former Hammers midfielder Steve Lomas has been appointed manager of St Neots. Good luck to him in his first managerial job. Michael Hughes will be his deputy. More HERE.

West Ham & the England Squad
March 23rd, 2009 - 1:08 pmGreat news that Carlton Cole, Matthew Upson and Rob Green retain their places in the England squad. Quite what Scott Parker needs to do to get a recall is anyone’s guess. Ok, you wouldn’t put him ahead of Gerrard, or even possibly Frank Lampard [battens down hatch] but I’d have thought he was in better form than Gareth Barry at the moment.
