I don;t suppose lightning will strike twice and the Spurs team will be struck down by food poisoning. Spurs have been an enigma this season – one Saturday brilliant and the next Saturday rubbish. Typical of them I suppose. With the players they have got you’d expect them to have done better (bit like us really!). We have several players available again so I suspect Curbishley will make a few changes after last week’s disaster. I expect Upson to play but maybe he will give Lucas Neill a little more time to recover. I suspect Boa Morte will be back too, more’s the pity. Presumably this has been covered in the papers, but is Tevez allowed to play? I saw a quote from Curbishley saying he would be playing, but it does seem a bit strange that he can play if he hasn’t been registered properly. I expect the team to look something like this.
Green
Spector
Upson
Davenport
McCartney
Reo Coker
Quashie
Boa Morte
Benayoun
Tevez
Zamora

NRC is suspended. I expect Mullins will start in his place. Also I think Konch will get another shot at left back and Neill will start – if not, Anton at right back, not Spector
Just wondering how Curbs has been motivating them for the game? Passionate clarion cry from the heart that moved all the players to tears and had them chomping at the bit to tear into Spurs? Probably more a shrug of the shoulders and a nasal: ‘C’mon boys’ is more likely. Problem is seems he’s the one who could do with motivating. How depressing have his post-match interviews been of late. He’s never been one for overt optimism, but boy how we could do with the vaguest semblance he knows what he’s doing and is up for it.
Never thought I’d say this, but at least Roeder had a bit more character and grit about him when he was going through the same thing. Anyone share the view we could do with Pards now? Don’t see us nicking 89th minute equalisers like Charlton did today
Love West Ham to death and have been here before with all the relegations of the past thirty-five years, but this somehow all seems so much more desperate than before and have a horrible feeling it could be a long way back for us whatever league we start in next season.
Yer.. Reo-Coker is suspended.
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHY THE F##K ARE PLAYERS WERE GIVEN A 4 DAY BREAK, WHEN CLEARLY THEIR ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH AT THE MOMENT FOR THIS LEAGUE, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DOUBLE TRAINING THEY WERE DOING. CURBISHLEY MAN MANAGEMENT IS SHOCKING, HOW CAN HE JUSTIFY THAT WHEN WE ARE PLAYING SO POOR.
Some sobering pre-match reading:

But how is Curbishley going to motivate them ?
If you do double training and work very hard you will stay in the Premiership ?
Hmmm..Can’t see it working myself…
I would like to see an aggressive attacking side today, there is nothing to lose. Hopefully he’ll put out the following:
GREEN
NEIL
UPSON
DAVENPORT
KONCHESKY
QUASHIE
BENAYOUN
BOWYER
TEVEZ
ZAMORA
SHERINGHAM
Bench
CARROL
HAREWOOD
NOBLE
BOA MORTE
ETHERINGTON
Hopefully with Upson in the middle of the back four we will have a little stability and organization. A risk having no defensive cover on the bench, but I figure it’s attack, attack, nothing but win is good enough for this game
According to Israeli press, Benayoun tore a muscle in training and is out for 3 weeks
Re Observer article: quite the most depressing thing I’ve read on our season so far. Explains why we’re so lost out on the pitch. Incredible.
As a Hammers Club Member, I have received an invite on Club headed paper for a ‘…free visit to Upton Park…’ and listen to a ‘…Spanish property development presentation endorsed by West Ham United…’
With all the crap, dread, hand-bag throwing and general insouciance of the players lolling about – what does this chavvy little venture tell me about WHUFC?
It’s going into the recycling circular file as I whistle ‘Bubbles’.
GAME OF THE SEASON.
spot on about the 4 day break between the watford and charlton games. i don t think pardew gave his lads a 4 day break. we were , in theorry, fighting for our premiership survival , yet curbishley saw fit to give them a 4 day break. makes no sense ,and partly explains why we were so out of our depth at the valley. 2 days off perhaps , but 4 ? thats the ultimate mick-take
Fantastic game. I hope the next game, in Braga, will be so spectacular as this one. You’re welcome in Braga in this fantastic stadium!
